Thank you for thje speedy reply. I'll see if I can make use of the help and the deal. So nice of you to post the information.

No problem. I hope you're able to take advantage of it. Like you, we've talked about one for quite some time, but the cost vs how much we knew we'd use it always got it pushed on down the priorities list.

I can not believe this, my chickens are weird or spoiled. They WILL NOT eat lettuce. Spinach they gobble up. I have thrown out lettuce to them on several occasions, they inspect it, then turn their beaks up at it and then walk away.

My chickens won't eat anything I throw out for them as far as scraps and such go. I think it comes from free-ranging, they're accustomed to food in it's natural, original form and have no use for the measly offerings I can bring forth. They just look at me like, "Pssshhh, we can find our own worms, thank you very much!"

I made the front page of the paper.

Other than a few mis-quotes and no coherent paragraph structure, I think the article is pretty positive.

Great article and yes positive. Maybe you'll land a spot on the council after all this....Someone who know's what their talking about and can educate others!

So it's not like me to go anywhere with a camera and not take dozens of photos. But this year I was shopping for 2 people, myself and my nephew. Between that and socializing I didn't pick up my camera much! I thought about bringing all of my gear and doing portraits of people with animals but by the time I thought of it it was too late. Maybe next year!

I had an excellent time. I came home with a LOT of stuff this year. I was lucky enough to get a box full of chicks for free...sadly I'm not sure who they came from. I bought Aric his guinea that he's for SO long. I figured he lets me have a lot of stuff and since his birthday is coming up ..and because I wanted a showgirl that he says are too ugly lol. So once that trade was done I was sitting next to Aric when he handed me money and told me to go get a Muskovey duckling. WHAT?? Alrighty, no complaints there!! LOL

It's a good thing I ran out of money or I would have come home with another turkey or two

I enjoyed meeting some new people and hanging out with friends (Robin and Kim). Thank you Sam and granny for a great time

My boyfriend has wanted a guinea for SOOO long so I bought him one for his birthday =)

These are the chicks I got for free but don't know who had them.

He wouldn't look at me. He looked a little ****** lol

If she had put that sweet thing down I would have gone home early....with it lol

If these hadn't been for Eeyore I would have grabbed them up! =)

I was lucky enough to trade one of my baby blankets for one of her excellent aprons!!

Keyt...great pics you got there. I think between all the ones that were taken everyone is in at least one. Your idea of taking pics with the animals is a great one!

Well, I just got caught up!

1) It was so cool to meet people yesterday. My son ended having an awesome time, even taking the plunge in the stream. Thank goodness I had a change of clothes in the car, only because they had fallen out of the goodwill bag.

2) Sorry I did not stay to the end. I had to work 3rd last nite, had no intention of staying past 1... So, my apologies for not pulling my weight and helping with the clean up. I did not see a donation jar or I would have contributed to the cost of the pavilions.

3) RaZ, excellent honey. Very good in my tea.

4) All my new chicks an hens made it home safely. We even made a detour and stopped to meet fuzzy in Allendale. My son... He comments on her truck, "Mom, look at that old thing!" haha, it is older than my jeep, so now I know someone who has geriatric vehicle just like me.

5) The chicken was excellent.

6) mom2, tell your dd that Snow and White ( don't ask...) have settled in. No eggs from them this morning... So, can't start saving for hopes of broody... But! They have the renovated tractor, a pen right next to the little dinners, an Roger finally met his match with the bearded... She kicked the poop out of him... BUT, he put on his manly face, pinned her down and now she thinks he is god Roger. The non bearded runs away from him like he is the plague of all chickendom. I think they LOVE the um... Vegetation.

Anywhooooo..... RaZ, yes, the article was too rambling, but it got the word out. Woulda loved if she'd have a pic of the girls chowing down.

Set the duke trap. Even set the other trap as well incase there are 2... Well neither trap were triggered last night. They are still set. On my way home from work this after noon, (yes, I worked third, and then a different route this afternoon, can you say, tired?)there was a coon kit on the road dead, not far from my house... My first thought as always was, aw, then it was one less to kill my chickens! Haha.

Carl put up a 6 foot tall fence yesterday to keep his chickens from my coop and run... Guess what... Yup, they all just walked through my back yard, heading for my run and pens. Hahaha!

I have to feed the mighty midgets. Maybe get a nap.

I got over to Mish's today and picked up my stash of eggs...and Whoohoo it was like Christmas in July!!!! (june, but who's counting)

Someone said yesterday they were "Chicken Drunk"...well today I got to be "Egg Drunk!!!!!!!"
I took them home and unwrapped them all and my poor husband had to listen to me prattle on about this egg and that egg till he rolled his eyes and just left the room.
Needless to say, he has no understanding of the love of egg.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to bring such a generous assortment of eggs for my Ukrainian pysanky!
Your generosity was overwhelming! I hope to be able to be there in person next year to say a big "THANK YOU!" to everyone!

I debated long and hard about going to the big shindig Saturday. Planned to. Drove in to Sam's Club and bought a new cooler, bottled water, soda pop, and some stuff to make pumpkin cheesecake pies that we really like. Got home and Jo was feeling awful bad. Her meds had been changed on Thursday. Two she had taken for years were cut and a new anti-depressant was substituted. Bry had arranged to get Saturday off work so he could be home with her in my planned absence, but I decided that since I was apprehensive about the long ( for me) drive, the six hour festivities and the drive back home, prudence decreed that I pass on chicken stock this time. The posts tell me you had a great time. I'm truly sorry to have missed it. M ybe (hopefully) next year will work out better for me.

HH,

I dug up a couple Highbush cranberries for you. I'll deliver them to you. Give me a date you can be home?
It's unfortunate that you weren't able to make Chickenstock, I was looking forward to meeting you, but given the circumstances I would have made the same decision as you. Hopefully we will see you next year.
