Well, I caught something in the trap... BUT not the something I was hoping to get in the duke trap. That is still sitting there, loaded with marshmellows. I got a baby opossum. I went to let every one out, and when I let the little dinners out, there is a tiny little puff ball of grey in the trap. So, took care of it, it was so cute trying to hiss at me, and any teeth in its mouth. LOL. Anyway....

The target has not been back yet...

I swear I put no roosters in no ones car! I put some in my own though... I am sure I will not be lucky enough to get all pullets... I figure though, with the ones I got from Randy, that if I get one of each, I will be happy. Then I can breed Mr. F to the pullet, and Loralie to the boy... I don't like the idea of breeding back to parents unless I really have to. SOOO, Now I won't. I hope.

Well, going to spend this awesomely nice day cleaning coop and run. The two little coops were done yesterday, and the meat coop was on Thursday, so that leaves the big one and the run. I think I need to change the nest boxes also.. Someone broke and egg in one, and there is a mess... YUCK!

Yes, you have to.
***hangs head *** lol.

On another note, we have this almost 100 degree weather coming up. My DIL was over last night and we were talking and she is seriously talking about taking Chimi in the house in the air conditioning when we have that hot weather. And she also re-named him. His name is Huey ( after Baby Huey) lol.

Sorry about the delay in answering. Raz- Bi-Odor is sold by marshall. I ordered it from Amazon. I got the 32 oz and its lasted almost 2 years so far. The bottle says it neutralizes pet's stool, urine, and body odors naturally. You add a small amount of it to their water. Its like a person taking chloropphyll for body odors, I think. Anyway, it works against skunky odor.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to get some. (Little guy sprayed me last night right after feeding time)

I have an Uggo hen who has decided to go broody. Just fair warning that anyone who gets an Uggo is getting either a roo or a broody hen.

On a positive note, I received a phone call from a lady who saw yesterday's news article and is supporting my cause with phone calls to city hall and gathering her neighbors to rally as well. She had chickens up until 5 years ago when her last hen died and she wants to get some again. Plus she needs some landscaping help so I'll go give her a quote tonight.

Hi! Live om Davison... not too far from Durand. Welcome.
Hi, that's not far at all! Thanks, I'm very happy to have found this site and the MI thread, even though it's a full time job trying to keep up lol.

I also think a twice a year event is a good idea. We could also do a 50/50 raffle to help cover expenses. Or even sell raffle tickets to the goodie table or maybe do a chicken raffle where chickens are donated and raffle tickets are purchased to win chickens; who wouldn't love that?. We do 50/50 and prize raffles at the dog shows I attend and a decent amount of money is raised.

LOL. Raz!

to the new folks!

I have to say I got a good snicker seeing the young man running round with that frizzle... they were quite a pair! Beautiful bird too! Who raised it?

I'm going on one of my first long distance bike trips (riding my own bike) in July. Not that far really, we're going to see Mammoth caves in Kentucky. I'm looking forward to it - just hope the weather is nice!

I got home from CS and realized........ I missed a bird I was going to bring. He's coming into his own and thinks he needs to try and mount EVERY bird in the run......... so I wonder what a millie fleur mixed with uggo or silkie or sumatra would look like? Crazy boy, sure is a pretty fella but man is he......... eager! lol!

Speaking of sumatra... they're the sweetest birds! My DH even commented on how friendly they were, perching on him, following him around. One of them, that I'm pretty sure is a roo.....has NO tail feathers... go figure! Just has a few wispy feathers that curl up and that's it! Strange!

Hope everyone has a great week!

I let my boy pick the raffle prize. He picked the stuffed chicken toy. He puts that thing in his bike helmet, straps it in, sets it on his sled full of rocks and what not, drags it through the trees, and last night, took it to bed. OMG! He had it sitting on the steering wheel to my mower, and I thought at first there was a chicken there...

I think a buying a ticket for the raffle is a good idea. Even though the items are donated, I think it would be good for covering the cost of the pavilion. I am looking forward to going next year. At least I will know where I am going and not take the exit to early and end up on the wrong side of town... At least I ended up on the wrong side of town but on the right highway!
