Hmmm. Good to know! I was wondering if I could go that low-tech with the temp swings we get in late-May/early-June. Oh, and we scored a special order return (had been installed and then taken back out) window at lowe's on Sunday for under $10. That's cheaper than the re-use store, AND I don't have to worry about lead paint! Can't wait for cooler weather, a little extra $, and time to build another coop!
Thank goodness for some rain!! My garden is VERY happy to have some 'real' water, and I'm pretty sure the tomato plants grew another 6 or 8in overnight! I'm trying to decide of I need to go pick my broccoli today. The crowns aren't very big yet, but this is my first year with it, and I don't want it to bolt on me.
A personal friend of mine from another thread lives not far from Harrisvill,e (sp?) and he is leavi ng Friday to move to Alaska so I went up to see him and pick up his blue Icelandic hen he gave to me. So by the time we visited for a bit and I left to come home it made for a loooong day. I love E Tawas everytime I go through there. That makes the whole trip worth it to me.
And to think, the other day I was contemplating ancestors and do not know the names of my great grandparents or their history. Most were European, French, and/or German. Mom born in Germany. Dad in UP near Marquete. Fished in the Yellow Dog as a lad.
?????? I'm not seeing it. Guess you need to point it out to me. The only thing I saw was that spoiler thing and that was blank and I don't even know how it got there.Robin, I think you had a little typo in your post to Swampducks - I'm sure it was a mistake!![]()
No clue. I didn't put it there so I have no clue.Brocccoli doesn't really bolt does it ? My experience has been thet once the first , hopefully , large head is cut or lacking dilligent care, flowers, smaller side shoots form small bunches of whatever they are called, not heads? Those are harvestable up to frost and sometimes later.
They are not as pretty, 'but they eat good.
What's with the whatever it was that was hidden? I never found it.
