Daron - What about a fruit tree that would ordinarily produce this time of year. Like a cherry? The fruit each year would be like a little tribute to Micah, something they can have each year to remember and celebrate him. You could even make up a cherry pie or even just fresh cherries to give them along with the tree this year.

Another (hopefully the last) update on the bumblefoot:

Before the heat hit, if you remember, i was trying a new iodine/sugar salve, and i had reported great success with it, but i had to stop during the heat just in case the bandage was too much.

Yesterday i saw that her foot was bumped out again, and i was bummed, thinking that it was the end......... But i did one more sugar/iodine treatment, to soften the scab so i could pull it off easily today.

Boy was i surprised, i cut off the scab and out came a core and the cheesy stuff that i should've seen before! It appears that the salve drew the last hard plug out from between her toes! (I found it after the salve had shrinked her foot pad the other week) So i will not have to do a real surgery, it just came right out! :D

So if anyone on here has to deal with a possible level 3 infection, (whole foot pad gone solid, almost to the bone incurable)
I would suggest doing the 1 ml penicillin for 5 days, doing the sugar/iodine as well. Do the surgery, infection should be down enough to easily see what you need to cut; less chance of getting staph yourself. Wrap with the standard triple antibiotic ointment, continue with the other 5 days penicillen.

Congrats! That is a long time to be married!

I agree with Olive! A fruit tree would be a perfect gift!

I hope you told the owner of the tomatoes! I am sure you did, but that is scary! I would not want to eat one!
Your willow tree found its new home today.(finally) In the front yard! I will post a pic tomorrow.

BRs found the compost pile today and really had a ball! I tried to show the SGs and EEs what to do in it but they are too girlie to get dirty and get some bugs! Everyone was out free ranging and dust bathing instead of hiding and panting under the trees. Great weather we had today!
Good day for the dogs too, Gunny is snoring on the couch!

How is everyones pennies and water bags holding up? Still keeping the flies away?

My mom just came in the room to tell me that my brother and his wife are planning a funeral for Micah. My mom had an idea to give them a tree to plant in their yard for Micah, like she did with her first miscarriage baby. She asked me what tree to get for Micah. I am thinking of a ornamental type, as they have lots of very nice shade trees in their backyard. But what kind of tree would be best to be Micah's tree.
Flowering Dogwoods do well in shade, and are nice trees. I like the fruit tree idea, too.

I third the fruit tree.

Also, I wouldn't have guessed you at 23. Are you sure you are? Cuz you still look like a baby! I don't remember looking that young when I was 23... My then husband, he did. He had the baby face forever, and then BAM! He looks his age. Me, I still look 32. I will be 32 until I am 40, and then I will claim I am 37 until I am 45... Yup... Although, I think the grey hair is going to give it away a lot faster than that. HA!

I got a good giggle tonight. One of the meatie boys got into it with Roger. Why the giggle? Well, he's only 8 weeks old, and he out weighs Roger obviously, but he was NOT BACKING DOWN! Even though he couldn't jump up and ninja kick, he sure was not going to let Roger one up him, so every time he'd try, he'd land on his butt. I don't think Roger knew what to make of it though, because he kinda just stood there and waited for the Fatty McFatpants to get back up, and then they'd do it again. LOL, I took Roger away, dumped him outside the dinners pen, and he ran back in to try and woo Snow, who I am going to rename Grouchy Pants. She does NOT think Roger is special. Prude.

Anyway, have a nice night all.
