The garden is doing great, exept the tomato worms are devouring the cabbages, and the worms (and the cabbages) aren't even full size yet. I picked about 20 off one plant.
Raccoons are sooo bad this year, I have 4 people living close to me that have had whole flocks of 20+ killed, some at 12:00 noon.

When I was at the Soldan's pet and feed store in DeWitt, there was a guy buying a tomato worm for, hmm, I think $1.25. In any case it was at least a dollar. For one tomato worm. One.

I don't know where Soldan's gets their tomato worms, but you could ask if they'd buy yours. You could probably make more money selling the worms than the tomatoes (that is, if you sell the tomatoes).

Happy Saturday! I'm stuck at work for about 10 hrs today... but oh lookie, I got my new sit/stand station installed!

Sorry I can't get on much like I had, I did it mostly at work and I've been swamped, plus they have a new internet policy which prohibits going on forums etc.... bummer!

Hope all is well!

the tomato worms are poisonous to lizards and such after they have fed on tomatos. The ones for sale at petshops have never eaten on them, therefore they are safe.

So about a week ago, I caught my son holding Bob the Blue Beta in the bathroom. Yes, he was holding the fish! I told him not to do it again because the fish need to be in the water to survive... yadda yadda yadda. Then 3 days ago, I went to the bathroom and looked for Bob... Not in his bowl! I had heard my son using the bathroom 10 minutes earlier!
"Son, where is Bob?"
"Maybe he went swimming somewhere!"
"What did you do with Bob? Did you put him down the toilet?"
"No, he just went swimming."
I found Bob next to his bowl and I thought he was dead... then I went to pick him up and he jumped!!!
I picked him up and put him back in his bowl.
The fish is STILL ALIVE!!! He had to have been out of his bowl for quite a while!
Well, I am talking about the fish that dove into the toilet while I was cleaning his bowl.
I think Bob has watched Finding Nemo one too many times!

Hey Nova,

I would not treat Mr. Fluffers for Coccidia. I would try to find out where he is injured. He may have internal injuries.

Coccidia is a parasite as you know and would have showed up in the fecal test you did recently on some of your flock. Also, the blood from Mr. Fluffers is occuring after he was in a fight with a predator so I would assume injuries.

If he had even one puncture wound, he could have a bad infection now. Can you start him on antibiotics now?
Once I had a hen that had one puncture wound to the head from a hawk attack. Our vet put her on antibiotics for 7 days just as a precaution. Keep us posted!
