Had a heck of a storm last night. Big oak came down in my back 40 - good deal because now I have a new stash of wood for making maple syrup next spring. I hate picking an oak to cull so whenever mother nature decides it's a big favor to me.
If anyone would like wood for the Winter, I have a couple of black cherry trees that we cut down and the wood is cut into large pieces and smaller ones. There is plenty here for several families. Just let me know when the weather cools off! We are near Robinette's apple orchard in N.E. Grand Rapids.

Well, you all might not be people i truly "know", but i like you none the less! I am one of those people who will be friendly to complete strangers...........Why not? Could turn out to be a cherished friend, never know until you try! I figure if any one really wants to stalk my postings they will figure out that a) i am nuts about birds, b) i really like to talk! lol.

Heres some spam for you :D

Pink queen ann's lace, Mystery wildflowers that look like snapdragons!

Told you it was dangerous to fall asleep around here! Cocoa climbing up to cuddle...... The porcelain trio, which are the usual suspects, lol. The last pic is why i ultimately decided to breed for the grey and red.......If you click on the pic to see the large version, you may be able to pic out cocoa on one side and princess on the other. :)

My orp with the 2 month old EE babies....... Do you guys think they will be small guys, or are they still going to grow a lot? They are affectionate too.

. . . . .Sturgeon Point lighthouse in Harrisville, which if anyone is in the area, they now allow people into the tower to see the Fresnel lens. Took them about 7 years to get the Coast Guard to allow it because it's still a working lighthouse. Very cool. Okay, back to my reading.

My parents and brother are just up the beach from the lighthouse! Well, not at this exact moment, as they are camping near Ann Arbor where my brother is getting six weeks of radiation treatment. They hate staying in motels so their camper is the next best thing to home.

Yulk! I hope the radiation treatments work for him. I know it is no fun watching someone go through that!

One of my nieghbors is big in to scrapping and has a truck with tall wood sides on it and a black tarp...
well he was just hauling butt down the road and the tarp was not secured.
His truck looks like BATMAN flying down my street!!!

You should be able to unload that quick! Put it on Craigslist if you really want it gone. I have tons of cherry, apple, and oak for my annual sugar making. Cherry is a good HW for the home fires also. Nice aroma in the woodshed as well. BTW, if you don't burn wood you'd be surprised how fast someone can go thru a cord during the winter months.

I have strange flock dynamics going on here.......... Since i got the new hen, my orp is becoming #2, whereas before she was the bottom... And she has taken the higher rank a bit far, going after the new girl worse than cocoa, #1. But during the day, she ranges by herself, leaving cocoa and the new girl together. So by day the newbie gets to be #2, than in the evening all heck breaks loose when the orp comes in from ranging. Cocoa is only concerned with getting her "toll", and being #1 so she only butts in if she thinks the new girl is getting more/better, and is allowing her to range close to her most of the time.

So my question is does anyone think the situation will settle between the newly advanced orp and the new girl, or is the orp going to be an issue for me? Oddly enough, she is letting me pick her up now- must be part of the "privilege" of higher ranking, but is still very aggressive with the newbie. It has been 2 weeks now, and other than that things have been very peaceful in my coop.
