Of course! Whats a few more, right? I might have to come see them and now that I'm hearing about your legendary baking skills, I might never leave

They're doing great. Amazingly, they all survived. I tried to send you a PM about them. But, I don't think it worked.

Our yard isn't too muddy, but we have a nice little pond at the bottom of the hill. The St. Bernards are loving it, but we aren't

Good morning all,

I just came in from checking the new chicks and all three are doing well. I was concerned about them last night. I wasn't sure if they were just tired or sick. I was hoping they were just tired and it now appears that was the case.

I spent most of last night building a new coop, just for bantams, in my sleep. I now feel tired enough that I was a little surprized to not find an actual coop in my bedroom. Some times I spend so much time working in my sleep that I have to wake up to get some rest.

Two of my brothers have been planning a motorcycle road trip to the Ozarks for months. They've been calling it the Rib Run. It was their intent to drive straight through to my oldest son's house, spend a few days touring the back roads of sw Missouri and nw Arkansas then head up to Kansas City to a famous rib shack. Now it appears that heavy rain is predicted for that area for the next two weeks. Bike riding in hard rain is less than pleasant and down right dangerous so they are now looking at weather forecasts for other parts of the country. If heavy rains are on tap for that area the Okie will get so far ahead of us that it will be extremely dificult for us to catch up to them.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Well i hope you guys dont mined if i blow some stem off at you,
I share a coop with the neighbor the coop is in his yard, there great people and will do any thing for any one.
But his really starting to make me very Mad
somad.gif
, last fall his dog a pug got into the chicken coop and killed 2 of my black australorps and 1 EE, thinking you know things happen.
well through the whole winter i think he went out there 3 times.
now we have meat birds 40 down to 35, they are 2 weeks old now, he went out there the day we got them and put a new bulb in, well some how he got half of the birds wet and just left them
barnie.gif
i didn't know this until i went to check on them, so i took all the wet ones put them in my house, got all dry and warm, next morning 2 died, that night 1 died, and 2 died in the coop. so i wasn't very happy about that
somad.gif
, so i seen him the following day and asked how he got the meat birds wet, Oh i must have bummed the water, so i told him that 5 died because of it and you have to loose them, not me
rant.gif

2 weeks now we've had the meat birds and he has done no care for them, so yesterday his talking to my hub, Chuck and i said hey can you take of the chicks tonight and lock them up.

so this morning i go out there, 1 of my EE's is missing and my other EE girls, bottom jaw looks like she cross bill, and dried blood around her month and one side of her nose, so went up to his house and asked what happened, my Silvia is missing and the other girl looks like she got beat up, oh jomanie got her his Pug, I said when did this happen, yesterday evening, i said why didn't you come and get me, oh i though she was ok.
somad.gif

so i dont know if your bottom jaw is broke i moved it a little but I'm not sure, its not hanging just looks cross.

Oh I'm so ready to build a coop in my yard,

I'm going to be build a duck house and play yard, maybe i will just added on and keep going for the chickens. I am so mad right now.

Oh but when he want eggs to sell, he come knocking at my door.

Too bad you couldn't turn on the water works
hit.gif
and start bawling, go on and on, in front of him, how much they mean to you, how that one was your favorite, you can't imagine how the suffered, you have nightmares, etc. Maybe he will get the point. Or maybe not. I am not good at that in front of people, I would rather just
smack.gif

Laura, so sad to hear of that. I am so standoffish to do anything with the folks next door because of things like that. We just bought 5 acres of the land between us just to keep a buffer.
good luck and if you have to

him try not to smack him on his property.

I've got some bread proofing. Hopefully it's yummy -- Oatmeal Molasses! Never tried this recipe before. My 20 month old is one my lap and she's trying to help me type. She's a busy little monkey! Awfully cute, too!

My children have reached the stage of their lives that they no longer sit on my lap. Since the smallest weighs 225 pounds I'm glad, however, sometimes I miss the time when they were small. Your daughter helping you is a memory you will never forget.

Hello All!!
frow.gif

I agree with Opa, enjoy them while they are small. I remember people telling me that when my sons were little, and I thought they were nuts. Another thing I noticed is when they are tiny and hurting, a kiss and a hug makes it all better. Once they are grown, the sad part is, it doesn't work any more to help them.

I would get your chicks away from your neighbor as soon as you can. If he doesn't care enough to watch out for them.
All that bread and cookies has me hungry. Like I really need to eat more food!!!

Those are such cute pictures of the chicks and goats. My son said he can't find my cord for my camera.

We are trying to move stuff out of the coop and sheds to reduce some of the water. God willing, we will make it alright.
God Bless you all and may your days be full of joy and happiness!!
