Hi all,
MJ , glad you are back and had fun on your vacation.
Seems like everyone has been very busy like us. DH is on a "forced vacation' as he had surgery Monday and is supposed to be taking it easy for a week. He does not know the meaning of taking it easy.

First thing he said when I was bring him home Tuesday was something about replacing the rolled roofing on one of the sheds by the end of the week. Where did I put that frying pan?
Our dog found a porcupine a couple days ago, luckily he only got two quills.
I planted most of the garden today and enjoyed the sun and warm weather. Seems like here in Michigan you have to hurry to do just about anything while the weather is warm and you don't get enough time to enjoy it. I would love to go to the swap meet/ get together but DH is still laid off and the funds won't allow for much extra. I have a couple of Phoenix chickens that need a home. I posted it on the buy, trade sell if anyone is interested.
It's been hard to keep up with all the posts, so

to all the newcomers and also sorry for the loss of pets/ chickens that some of you have had.
Cristy, hopefully the problems with your checks will be straightened out soon. Just a thought, when we order new checks we arrange to have them to be picked up at the bank because our mailbox is so far from our house that we can't see it and we worry about people taking stuff out of it. Also, we have been having the indigo buntings here. We just went to Sam's club and bought 100 lbs of sugar for the hummingbirds. Last year we went thru about 75 lbs because we had so many hummingbirds. I tell people that they need to put a helmet on before they come on out front porch.

We have a chicken sitting on duck eggs right now

Cit- I may be getting Mallard eggs today. Have to find out how long mom had set on them, if at all. If they have not started to develope then they can be hatched out? What should I look for if I candle them?? I need yer expertise !!

Good morning everyone!!! I slept almost ALL day yesterday!!! While it was great, it is also scary. Have to talk to the doctor today about that. I get my stitches out of my foot today. Hopefully I can start wearing regular shoes soon!

Morning all have fun Cat. Patti maybe it was the heat that made you tired

Kris I am not saying this to be mean. It is a federal crime to even touch a wild mallards nest. That being said if it is just a duck then if it is fertile it should hatch.

I think it might be the medicine. My dr asked me if the lower dose was making me sleepy/tired and I said no, but the pain was getting up there again so she increased it. Maybe this will be how they help with the pain - keep me sleeping

Good morning everyone!! Its 69 degrees already today. I'm going to enjoy it before work. The whole flock was outside even before I got up. The crowing actually woke me:)
Crystal -- did you get to enjoy yesterday for me? Also one of the bunnies dead overnight - I think the dogs did get it before I did. But the other one is still doing good. If he lives, how long before they would leave their mother?
