Boyd, I may take you up on the trip to Chickenstock. I've put in a request for the day off, but I will not know for awhile if it gets approved or not...I'll let you know.

Another possible side effect of the chicken pox vaccine is shingles, internal chicken pox. We knew a two year old that ended up with shingles and was told when her body was stressed it would probably return over her lifetime! On the other hand, I know of a little girl that died of chicken pox, it got into her blood stream.

Both cases are pretty rare I think, but I would still go with the more natural route myself, no vaccine. Though my youngest two have had it because they were vaccinated before we adopted them, so not my choice. The vaccine wasn't out when my oldest two were babies and they both got chicken pox at about 5-7.

Oddly enough, my mom, my sister and I have never had it, they Dr. said we probably have a natural immunity, unfortunately I didn't pass it to my kids.

we don't do ANY vaccines anymore. my middle child got chicken pox several times.

oh, Boyd, the kids and i voted that we already like you and your family enough NOT to mop floors for you. how's that sound?

we're just too sassy to do it really. or lazy maybe. or realistic. or doing farm chores and going right back in and out so you'll have to deal with the real!

Quick Question. I was on a website last week that sells hatching eggs auction style. I found the link here at BYC, but cannot find the site again. Ring any bells?

There is a ferequent seller that has Java eggs.

i see the plan now! hey, for some reason some of the white quail are pecking each other! i am going crazy! all on the right wing! what the heck is going on! they were fine this morning and then i go in this afternoon and they have blood on their right wings. guess we know who is going to be eaten first.

I didn't get the chicken pox till I was 27. My oldest son gave it to me. I also had a 2 year old and 8 month old to take care of at the time. It was no picnic.

My step son was before the pox vaccine was around. He had a mild casr when he was 2. My other 2 have had the vaccine but my Dr. told me it won't completley keep them from getting it but if they do they tend to have a milder case. And anyone that has ever had chicken pox can get shingles later down the road. My mother got the chicken pox less then 2 weeks old and almost died. Later in her 40's she got shingles and said that it was the worse thing she has ever been through.
