That would be great. Brody had to clean his room last weekend and he found a little basket to hold all his cool rocks. Collin keeps his displayed in his room. Not much feather collecting mosquitos are sooooo.... bad and Brody swells up from them. They swarm him like crazy too. We tell him he must be to sweet. Not really he can also be a poop, but that's what we tell him.

Good morning!! Another racoon in the trap this morning. My husand didn't belive me. This makes 4 coons. They must come from miles around smelling the chickens.

MJ That would be why the mosquitos like him more than us. He hates eating bananas. I make him eat part of one but it is slow going down. I do cook with garlic a lot. Maybe that doesn't help though.

I borrowed my dad's friends trap as well as put mine out and I had at least 1 in the trap for close to a week

It has slowed down here, but............... I still set it to be safe.

Good Afternoon everyone

Well one of my Americana Girls is dieing, so is so lethargic, about a month ago the pain in the butt dog next store

got her right in the head and her beck was corked for about a week and then it went back in to place, then the bad darn Americana roo his going to be soup next month

, attacked her, and then she couldn't walk, so much stress on her, i tried to feed her yesterday but she would take any thing even with a string,

she is one of my favorites, doesn't all ways seem that way,

now my other roo his so sweet and gently with the girls, cant want for D-Day for this bad Roo, his so hard on the girls some of then have lost all the feathers on their backs,i have been putting triple antibiotic on them,


any that is going to the Chick meet Aug 1, and are selling Americana's let me know please.

Well it's as grey as can be here with thunder in the distance. Laundry is almost done but it is going into the dryer. Wish I could put it out on the line.

MJ honestly how muck work are ducks? The water, the smell? I think runner ducks and silkie ducks are cute as can be. All ducklings are cute. But the wet and muck looks like a lot of work to keep it clean. The boys have been bugging me about getting ducks ever since we went to your house. Actually they were bugging before that too but it has gotten worse. I don't want to get into them if I am not gonna enjoy them as adults.

We are gonna keep setting the traps. Honestly we could have trapped more but my husband takes a break every other day or so. He really doesn't like having to shoot and bury them all.

I'm in Sodus, MI, which is by St. Joe and Benton Harbor. I think I'm going to want some Marans, Barnevelders, and/or Delawares. If anyone has any that they'd be willing to sell to me, let me know. I won't need them to be hatching until the second week in July though ( I want them to be no older than three or four weeks old by August 17 so they can go outside just as I get rid of my meaties).

If I get Marans or Barnevelders, I want the darkest eggs possible. I just love those colors, and they fare well at our county fair!. (My siblings and I are in 4H).

If I had my way, I'd get some of all three breeds, but I haven't the room to keep three roosters away from each other and with their respectable breed of hen. I do like my chickens to be self-sustaining, fertility-wise.
