We have moved a couple of small buildings like that. If you can jack them up and put cement blocks under them, then back your trailer up close and push & slide it on. This is what we did. It took some muscle, but was definitely do able. It really helps if your trailer tilts can you can back the edge under the coop/building. Our friends had one like that. We just used our flat bed trailer.

LOL wouldnt that be awesome? Hubby is on way to get the stove now...had to use his work van... couldnt get on of the doors on the suburban open to fit it in ....

I want to custom build my own coop. i have a pic in my head of what i want..and i think i can do it for less than she wants for that one....although all of the accessories would be cool lol

Mine will be done soon. It is my xmas present to my self. That way in spring time I can focus completely on building my raised beds for my gardens. Taking it step by step to become self sufficient.....learning curve you know! lol

Thanks Tiempo!!!! It is more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. I just can't thank you enough!!

I can't wait to get it hooked up. I am now on a mission to get all of the pipe to the roof line and get the inspections....

Thanks Again, and if I ever can return the kindness for anything at all please let me know!!!

Life sure is good. Wynette and her husband Dave were here today. It sure is good to meet new people. Finished one of my coops and cut an opening in the chain link fence that run is made of. Now I have a dedicated pen for my Welsummers. Dispatched an Ameraucana Splash rooster this afternoon and Hope fixed him for supper. Fried sauerkraut and homemade spaetzle. Like I said, Life is good.

Well, my daughters pet chicken a buff orpinton(sp?) is sick again. Back in March she had the same thing. An infection of some sort. I think ear.

In March we took her to a vet in Williamston (by Lansing) a half an hour away. It is the only one around to treat birds. The vet gave Rachel 2 medicines and special food for the chicken. He also ran blood and stool tests to see what was wrong and didn't charge her for this either. She only had to pay for the office call. (Rachel had to pay for it herself, hubby wasn't spending money on a chicken. The vet heard me talking to Rachel and felt guilty charging a kid.)

So Friday the chicken is twisting it's head around and it's eyes are pulsing. She closes them a lot, I think she is dissy. (In March she progressed to doing flips and couldn't stand up)

I call the vet on Friday and they are able to perscribe some antiboditics without seeing her again. She has 2 days in her and she isn't getting worse an in a day or two she should start improving.

So we now have an $80 chicken! She is spoiled rotten and right now is being mothered very well by my daughter. She is the one chicken that is not cooped up in a pen out of the 50+ chickens we have. (After she got sick the first time the coop she was in wouldn't take her back. So she has the VIP suite:)

This time though the chicken is not in our heated garage, she isn't as bad. And I don't want to deal with the smell again. She has visited a few times since yesterday though.

I think I have some of those. At least I know that their eggs cost about $150 a dozen. Seriously, sorry to hear that your bird is sick. Got me thinking about doing some serious preventative vaccinating of my birds. Great more cost.

we aren't doing vac's or antibiotics. our homeopathic doc can make remedies for anything and then you just put it in the drinking water.

i don't keep anything that is ill. that's just me, i don't think it's right or wrong either way. you have to figure out what is best for you and your flock.

he is going to make me some remedy to have to kill parasites and also viral/bacterial remedies to have on hand. kind of like a 'medicated feed' therapy, only all natural and no chemicals.

he can do it for any pet or livestock animal pretty much.

i am excited to try this and see what happens.

Wow Miss Jayne

I would love to hear more, and wonder if this doc of yours wants more customers. I lean toward less is better on chemicals ingested by my family or my animals. But I also dont thumb my nose at medical treatment either...i am trying to walk the fine line and keep a balance.

The whole point of this lifestyle change for me is to be healthier and more natural than store bought etc.... Thanks so much for the input!! much appreciated.

Hi All!!
We now have 5 new baby fuzzballs!!! My little silkie has hatched out that many. Even the cracked one that we put the wax on. It worked great and thank you ever so much for the info. I was so worried about that one.
Also thank you Vicki for the silkies I got from you and it was great to meet you. Our little dog wanted to fuss with them all the way home.
The silkie has two more eggs not yet hatched. Should I wait awhile yet before removing her from the nest so we don"t lose the others?
