Mow it first without the bagger and wait a couple of hours and then remow. It won't clog.

Thanks Opa- I will try that next time!!

Good morning. Got another coon in the trap last night. Two days and two coons again. We had lent the trap to my Aunt and Uncle for a couple weeks and now we have it set again. We lost all of our sweet corn to them last year. We plant a lot too, one whole garden is almost all sweet corn. These coons are causing problems at all the neighbors. I even think someone is releasing them out here. Monday the trap was rolled over and over on it side till the bait came out. That is one trap wise coon. It is now hooked onto the big piece of plywood it is on.

Good morning everyone. My husband found the funniest thing last night when he was trying to fix the hot wire on the pen. He went to move an upside down wheel barrow only to find an escaped banty mix underneath it sitting on 8 eggs! I have no idea when she escaped (ha-ha, probably 8 days ago) and if the eggs will hatch. We moved the eggs into the hen house, carefully, and I had to corner momma to put her back on the eggs. Of course as soon as I left the hen house she bolted off the eggs. I really hope that she finds it in her heart to go back and sit on these little eggs. It would be really neat if she hatched at least one out! When I get home from work today I'll have more of an idea if she's abandoned them or has taken to them again. Anybody have a similiar experience? Just wondering if I messed things up. I couldn't leave her outside of the pen though, we've just recently caught a coon in the trap and had to bait again.

My boyfriendis so silly. I only have one hen who is laying eggs right now, so I only get one egg a day. And I have another hen who is broody and keeps sitting on said one egg. Then I have to steal the egg from broody butt every evening. And she is not so happy about it.

My boyfriend went outside today and got the one egg before I got home, and put a HUGE plastic hot pink egg under the chicken. So when I came home I went to get the egg, and was very surprised and confused to find my Easter Egger sitting on a huge Pink egg, it was rather funny.

My poor adorable Cochin Rooster that I found in a park after easter is going to his new home today. I wish I lived in the country so I could get the sweet heart, he is a true lap chicken.

Good Morning!

I need to water our garden today. Everything is looking good and I have flowers on a lot of the plants:)
So I know I will be picking beans during fair week...It happens every year, no matter when I plant it seems!

Off to wake the kids up. Got to get busy! Lots to do and with VBS this week at church we don't have the evening to get stuff done!

Morning - we have a couple of hens who went broody and we have put them in a dog crate inside of the coop and keep them locked in there in order to keep them sitting on the eggs - when we let them out for a romp, one of them tries to go back to her original nesting box...so we too have to put her back in with her eggs - try putting her in an enclosed area - good luck! We've got 12 more days and hopefully we'll have a hatching!
