Good morning. We went to the Newaygo County fair yesterday. I was rather disappionted. There weren't very many projects entered. I always like to see the crafts. Also we checked out the poultry entries. That was frustrating because they did not have the breeds listed on the cages. If I saw a chicken I liked I had to find someone and ask what kind it was.

wyliefarms wow, i hope things work out for your brother. what kind of dog is it?

MJ glad to hear your feeling better

Went to Nickle Back concert on Weds, had a great time,
woke up yesterday, i thought i was going to throw up, i stayed in bed all day and still feel like crap, I'm freezing but braking out in to sweats

Good Morning!

I got to be a plumber this morning! Gretchen lost her tooth last night and it went down the drain. It is safely tucked under her pillow now

Yeah, and I'm technically retired but it doesn't seem that way. I'm going to work on the coop again tomorrow until mid afternoon then get cleaned up and head for Muskegon to the kitchen job we've got going. I've got to install the kitchen cabinets Sunday so the granite countertop man can make templates on Monday. I am going to take a side trip on the way over and stop at Hillbilly Roosters and pick up another buff orpington. Got to keep the rainbow flock balanced with two birds of each color/breed.

I stopped over at Hillbilly Rooster and picked up 3 hens on my way home from Chickenstock. He and his wife are so nice. And the hens are wonderful. Thanks again Hillbilly Rooster.

I wonder what is going around? This morning I felt a little off, and then light headed after feeding everyone so I tried to take it easy. When my DH left for work at 1pm I laid down (not norm for me). Next thing I know I'm shaking and curled under the down blanket and freezing. My boys may be young, but boy can they be great when mom needs help. They cooked me rice and brought me water and a cold wash cloth. We ordered pizza from a local place that will deliver all the way out here. When it was time to feed all the animals for the night I was able to walk out with the boys and they did almost everything! Of coarse today was the day I let everyone free range so there were tons of birds to put away. I'll have to rethink that today.

On an added note I put my one remaining duck in with the 4 week old Rainbows that just went out on pasture. She has been super sweet with them, and seems to be getting used to me wandering around in the hoop house. Today we added the three muscovies that Vicki sent home with my mom. They were getting so big they were starting to pick on the other chicks I had them with. I'm not sure how old they are, but they seem to be doing well. The funny thing was watching my female ducks reaction. She ran right up to them and started grooming them. Very cute.

Zephyr sorry to hear you're feeling poorly and I'm glad the boys are so good to help. You must be raising them right.
I never get tired of watching the antics of my birds. I would have like seeing that duck so quickly accept the new ones. Wonder if she could teach my chickens to be a little more accommodating to newbies. Had they been so I wouldn't have a vulture headed chicken.

Hillbillyhen thanks for

Feeling better today, Yesterday I slept most of the day, Thank goodness for my girls they took care of everything.
still little off today but much better.

Sam got your message, Give me a call when you get back from up north.

Wyliefarms wow that dog must have a lot of issue, I wonder if it was abused. I worked at the Humane Society, back in my twenty's and 90% of those dogs just dont come back right,
not to sound rude about your SIL, but it sounds like she wasn't doing a very good job of fostering,

I fostered a couple dogs and one of them was staved and beaten, she did good for a while then all of a sudden she would turn on you, she never got better and she was in a fenced yard, after 5 months she had to be put down,

Howdy Neighbors,

My name is Carol and Im new to BYC. What a great site!

Im in Lapeer County and I see many others are too.

Is there a swap meet ever close to here? If so , I would love to attend.

Enjoy this beautiful weekend.
