GReat news Cat!! The power of prayers

My DH has been slowly going back to work up here, but its week to week. His company makes car pistons and GM was one of the biggest lines here. In my area we have 12 major factories alone that have laid people off left and right. With all the lay offs here, its amazing the town hasn't dried up and rolled away. At least when DH was laid off, we had pleny of family time. My job's flexible to work around his lay-offs.
Speaking of fishsticks -- we had deep fried salmon Tuesday. Does that count? YUMMY!

Yesterday our President announced that his stimulus program is working and the economy is improving. He sure didn't check on how things are in Michigan before he made that statement. I haven't seen construction this bad since the early 80's. Most years we are booked 16-18 weeks in advance. Now we have 2 weeks on the books and nothing else scheduled. Sadly, we are doing better than most others in our area. I'm constantly receiving phone calls from people asking if I'm hiring. With the housing market glut we currently have I don't see much improvement in the near future.

I run the local Taco Bell and right now we plan on the tourists dollars to keep us busy. They just aren't there this year - who has the money to go anywhere. I'm not laying off, but most of my staff aren't getting the hours they want. Most weeks if possible, I even cut my hours so that they can get a few more. I am afraid to see what the winter will bring

Oh no my ducks are missing!!!

I went outside to do my feeding that the ducks are GONE! No sign of animal attack at all, and all the chickens are fine (they are in the same pen).

I wonder if a 2 legged predator took them!

They can't really wonder off they are in a large dog run with bird netting over the top. I used to lock the run, with a bike lock, but I stopped locking it after the lock rusted. No feathers, no sign of anything digging into the run or anything.

Someone must have just walked in there early in the morning and took them away.

You guys have more chatty than usual. Anny, hope you find out who took your ducks. MJ, glad you are feeling better. Well, we finally got our summer. Hot days expected...all in a row!

Good Morning, all. I've got to get ready for a garage sale that DH decided to have and gave me 2 days notice to get ready!!

Men! Of course he goes off to work and I have to do all the prep work here. After 30 some years of marriage, there's a lot of stuff to go thru. Well, maybe not that bad, since we've moved a few times and got rid of stuff along the way. Well, have a good one....

If it was my husband, I'd get rid of his "junk" - old hunting clothes, fishing stuff, and the odds and ends - since it was HIS idea and he went to work. Why should you deal with it? Have fun with it anyway. Get a few friends to help and make the best of it.

Morning all! Head is feeling a little better this morning, hopefully it stays that way!

Laura, praying your husband's construction picks up soon. We all feel for you, that is for sure!!

Anny, that seems awful weird about your ducks!! I would be keeping my eyes open, checking neighbors backyards and such. I hope they turn up soon!!

Well, off to another day of running, it never seems to end. I thought summer would be easier, kids would be off school, we could relax! HAHAHAHA

I can't wait for them to go back to school so I can relax!! At least then I have a few hours to myself!! Ok, I know, that wasn't very nice, wasn't it? Must have been the 5 hours of sleep I had!
