Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It has been a very tough week. Last night I could not get the ducks back into their pen. I spent almost an hour herding them around to no avail. When I went out to feed this morning we only had one very damaged duck left. Her tail feathers and flight feathers had all been pulled out and she has blood on her bottom. I am going to trap her in the baby pen tonight and try to doctor her if she will let me. I'm so afraid that now that they have found us they are going to keep coming back everynight.

I am so sorry!

I know ducks and geese prefer being outside and it is hard to get them used to going in at night. It helps if you feed them inside so they are used to going in and them lock them in.

My solution was to finally get a livestock guardian dog! So far so good, no losses since, but it has only been 3 weeks and he is only 5-6 months, but he is a doing an awesome job!!

Definitely worth the peace of mind!!

I've been under the weather today too. It must be the weather messing with our heads.

I have slept on and off all day. I didn't get much done .

My SIL and Grandson went out and cleaned my barn today.

It really needed it and my SIL said Kyler had to much energy and needed to work it off.
Hopefully he will have more of these kind of day. I could make a list for them.
Suppose to start our yard sale tomorrow, Maybe I'll get them to help with that too.

The weather isn't messing with my head, it's messing with my joints something awful. Pain meds don't seem to be helping much so I haven't gotten much done today either.
MJ, glad you are feeling better. It must be those wonderful kids you have!
Zephyrcreek, sorry about your ducks. We used to feed ours inside and I don't remember having much trouble getting them to go in at night.
Vicki and Babszoo, I hope that you both feel better soon. You just can't think when you have a headache.

that's it...let's all pack up and move to the Virgin Islands. these aches and pains gotta go!

HH...hope you feel better too! want me to send my kids over? they can help with your $2 coop!

yes, i am still having issues over that.

Thanks MJ.
Well, I do have a little more work to do on it. I have a bunch of extra linoleum just lying there waiting to be used, so I thought I would put it on the inside walls. Poor Elliott is lonely. These little girl welsummers need to hurry up and grow so they can keep him company. He is the "middle child" right now. Too big for the little girls and too little for the big girls.
I don't feel like packing, can I just bring this laundry basket full of clothes that is waiting to be folded? Oh, nope that wont work either, it's DH"s work clothes.

that's what it says on my business card.

HH...don't bring any laundry or whatev. i think we just need like three pair of shorts and two t-shirts to live there. maybe a rain slicker for the hurricane season. we'll pile all the chickens in the bathtub when one comes along. should be just fine. no different then last saturday, right?
