I was told it was a Barred Rock and a Cochin, but some one pointed out that they think the barred rock might have a Rose comb and be a Dominique, what do you think?

I sure hope they are both female. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hey everyone its been a while since I've posted. I just got back from LA a couple of days ago and have been trying to catch up.

Dryden is my father's hometown!! Haven't been there in years! I grew in in Lum and my mother now lives in Lapeer.
Hope you enjoy the forum enough that you join us at Fowl Fest!

i sure needed them.

i've apparently had a big dip in my level of potassium in my body. it caused me to be very weak, lethargic and very ill. thank God i listened to my husband and agreed to go to the ER. i wouldn't be typing to you now if i didn't.

i was in a room with a 92 year old lady who was not to keen of mind any longer. as sick as i was, i got up to help her find her nurse call button and her phone. she couldn't find them (even though they were right next to her) and would get all flustered. it was so sweet. i am going to name a Speckled Sussex after her. we both had UTI's and liked to make bread. Maddie. turns out, i live in the house her cousin built years ago!!! is that crazy or what?

it'll be awhile til i'm back to my sassy self

, but i'm feeling a bit better. i'll be on as i'm bored sitting in bed. keep praying for total healing. thank you so much, friends. i missed you all while i was in hospital land.

Miss-Jayne: I was just checking to see if anyone new from Michigan is here and all the while you were in the hospital.. Well I'll be praying for you.. We had the opposite with my now 8 yr old son who runs a high level of K. 2 yrs ago after he passed out at school we found high potassium and after months and months of blood work and MRI's and scans.. we outruled cancer which was my main concern after loosing a brother and father to it. Anyway.. until we see some other symptoms we have taken his high level as his Normal.. LOL (I am anyway) Getting yours back up to normal should be way easier. Good luck and feel better. Kim

*waves to Miss Jayne!!!

Glad to see you are home. I shall keep you in my prays for a speedy recovery. This is Jamie's mom, Carol. We came out with the 2 babies.. Autumn and ALex, and Jamie got 2 turkeys babies from you. What an adorable place she has all set up for her chickens!!

Kris...Ive lived in Dryden for 26 yrs. You couldnt drag me out of here. Very nice, cozy, small town. And one of the best restaurants around. Lenny Miller's on Dryden Rd. You should try it sometime. Great food, give you plenty for left overs for lunch the next day and one heck of a soup and salad bar. Homemade 7 nut bread that my chickens love and its all you can eat too. Makes great french toast YUM. Jamie and I were there last night.

I am planning on making it to the fowl fest in Oct. Sounds like a lot of BYC members will be there. I'll make sure my daughter comes too..make it a family thing and let the grandkids show some of their chickens. Ive got a camper so we'll be staying the weekend.

So glad you are back home! The Dixie Rainbows are doing well. Just hope they aren't getting too hot. I don't even have the light on today because of the heat. I'll turn it back on later today. They are pretty cute! Get well soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
