yes ma'am. despite all controversy, rich rod is delivering this year. Last year he tried to make all of lloyd carr's leftovers work within his system. this year because of recruiting and changes, he found the right peeps for the job.
I'm impressed.
Disappointed that msu failed so spectacularly today though. Gives me too much ammo against my two SIL's
Good morning friends. Just had to share this one. We went fishing last night. Bluegills and perch were biting good - had a meal worths in the basket. As we're fishing, DS gets a strong hit. Figured it was a northern or big bass. Took 20 minutes of gently working it in. Only had small gold hooks and 6lb test on the pole. DH had to use the net to get it in the boat. It was a Snapping Turtle!! It probably weighed 25 - 30lbs!! It stunk, was covered in slime, and was hissing up a storm! DH snipped the line - hooked on the underside - and let it go. DS was hoping for a big fish to brag about, but I think was a better story.
cristy17 hope those fish were good tasting, wow that turtle, i would have been running
the neighbor went up to Harrison, and got some fish, he said they had a big frost up there, it will soon be here, so get the rest of your garden vegs out,
one of Rouen x magpie ducks layed a egg yesterday, so we put it under one of are chicken that went broody, of all things a golden laced Wyandottes,. i was keeping golf balls under her, thinking she would give up, but NO, so we put 1 duck and 3 chick eggs, so will see what happens
wish i would have gotten the incubator from Sam before he left, for the duck eggs
Hey Rhandi Hope your feeling better
have a great day everyone, looks like were going to have a beeauutiful fall
Good luck venturing out on Monday Boyd, just don't overdo things.
Wow Cristy, that is something about the turtle. LauraS, my BIL is visiting this weekend from Harrison. We had frost advisories out for here this morning. I don't think we actually had any but it was 38 degrees at 6:30 am. MJ and Briana I hope ya'll are feeling better.
I am suffering from an allergy attack, I think it is because I was helping DH with weatherproofing the deck. Paint and such always plugs me up.My sons would get mad at me whenever I told them NOT to use Axe or any of that strong smelling stuff around here. Plugs me right up and gives me a headache. Plus I think the ragweed is probably causing some problems too. Boyd, I told DH about the wild pigs and he seemed interested. Also found out that we have them around here but apparantly no one has killed one here yet.
i know, i was surprised to find out we had them around my place too!!! I've never seen them though......
Our only claim to fame is when my wife saw what she said was a big cat. Judging by the distance and knowing a deer is the same size at that distance we guessed some sort of couger/mountain lion. A month or so later we saw a blurb that somebody else saw it.
A couple years ago FIL was out in a turkey blind on our property and he saw a bobcat. Also a few years ago when my oldest son was working at the campground down the road from us he said that the DNR were there because of bear signs around some of the camp sites. The DNR stated that there were wbout 4 or 5 tagged bear in our area. I haven't seen any though.

They're here!!! We have seen cougar twice around by our house. One several years ago was the usual tan, the one we saw about a year ago was black. We also saw a track on some property we own in Fostoria.
Oh you should have put that turtle in a water trough for about a week/10 days to clean it up/out. They are excellent eating. I road search constantly around my place after a good storm for them. Last one I caught, had him in my Jag trunk and felt bad for him as it was hot out and I was visiting a friend in Rochester Hills. So I opened up the trunk and when I went to leave...he was gone. LOL I said oh well now you'll have turtles behind your house in the swamp lol. They werent to happy.
I love fishing this time of year. This week we went pan and bass fishing. I caught a 18 1/2" Lg mouth bass and a friend of mine got a 21" his was so big I could put my whole hand in his gill. Nicest bass Ive seen in our small lake in a long time. So now they are in my pond. Cant wait to see how big they are next year.
Going fishing again tonight after supper. What a wonderful way to relax on a fall evening.
