Just a reminder that there's a Poultry/Gamebird swap tomorrow (SAT) hosted by MBGBA near Flint, visit their website for details and directions
http://www.mbgba.com/

I'm taking some Bantam Cochin pullets from this year (blue and splash), and some nice Red golden and Cinnamon golden pheasants from this year's hatch if anyone is interested. I am looking for females golden pheasant in any color if you are coming.

Also--Frizzledhen is unable to go but I am bringing some of her very nice quality birds to sell for her. Bantam Cochins and Frizzles--blue and splash.

See you there!

Boyd-

There was a show on last night about feral hogs. Quite interesting and cannot believe they cannot be kept under control, number wise.

They are here in Midland County, also. They were released from a game ranch a few years ago and have multiplied. My husband used to hunt state land and there were some shot during deer season on that land. I guess people are having issues with them in Sanford (Midland County) right now, too.

yes but..... i am thinking i want me some bacon for retribution.

Actually I watched pig bomb on the discovery channel last night and went online to search........

Apparently there is an unlimited bag limit for wild hog. However many 365 days a year. That's some bacon

I don't know a whole lot about hunting them though so I am doing a lot of reading, and I had a nice gal from the DNR email me a bunch of information about it yesterday. I now have a legitimate reason to hunt 365

hm... any state land out there? going to mr. google me thinks.

Yup, there should be state land in Sanford. I'd have to ask the hubby. He knows all the areas. I know that they still are out on the state land where he used to hunt. That state land was called Kawkawlin Flood Grounds near the Midland/Gladwin border. We used to live on that side of the county and my old neighbor saw the wild hogs cross between our house and theirs one day. Hubby said that in Sanford, the hogs have been tearing up people's yards lately. I'd have to ask him more about it. He just mentioned it yesterday.

If you have a valid hunting licsence you are aloud to kill the feral hogs. They do taste good nothing wrong with them. Just make sure that you have something to drag them out of the woods with something there are some that get pretty big.
