Keep us posted on the rest!

MJ -- It's so funny you say that. A non-horsey friend that's recently moved back to the area following a divorce rode along and she gave me many perplexed looks today. The most obvious when I sniffed a rack of leather reins.

Collin's Birthday sounds superb. What a fun and relaxing way to spend it! I hope he has a wonderful time!

I have a February birthday and it never failed that growing up, we would always get a snowstorm on the weekend that my party was planned for.

Good morning. I stayed the night in Portage, with my daughter, her friend and my mom, at my sister's house. Hoping my family at home woke up for chicken duty!!!

We went to Kalamazoo Irish Fest to see our favorite band, Blackthorn. It was awesome!

Good Afternoon!

Rachel got inpatient with the 4th chick trying to hatch. She assisted and it wasn't ready, some of the yolk not absorbed yet, so it died.

3 more eggs we are waiting on....

We are heading off to Owosso Speedway, Jon is racing.

There is no better smell than a combo of smells from leather tack, horsie and sweet smelling alfalfa hay-----ahhhh. I also love to sniff my horses necks-----it always make me feel better!!!!

MJ------I was at my mom's house yesterday taking care of her while she had the flu. It was at the same time as the parade for the Otisville festival. After it seemed the parade was over (they were letting traffic on M-15 again) I looked out her window and saw a wagon going by pulled by Legs and Fergie. I ran to get my camera and took a pic. I will email it to you. They looked all happy and pretty pulling the wagon.

I would like to add them to the condo the roo and hen are living in. I only want hens. Already worried about
current roos and noise in town.

I used to love the smell of my dogs muzzle. It always made me feel so much better too. I sure do miss her sometimes.

We had a busy day today. Cleaned out the coop, mowed down gardens, added poop and wood shavings to the garden and rototilled it all in, and added sand and dirt to some low spots in the chicken yard, and after all that was finished we put a new flower bed in. It was nice to put this tractor to good use, besides mowing. Boy and I tired of raking and shovling though. I think next time I should get to drive the tractor.

I'm proud to announce that I am the new care giver of 3 pair of 5 month old SQ LF Light Brahmas. I was lucky to have met a wonder couple that had these birds and offered me these pairs from Bill Bowman's birds. And to mentor me through the process of what is Show Quality and what is Pet Quality. i picked up the oldest hen and said "Oh my , this is like carry'n a hen turkey" LOL

They are not only majestic and docile...but what beautiful coloring and type. My grandson will enjoy showing them in 4H next summer and so will "Grammy"

They are just starting to lay, so looks like my incubator will be going most of the winter. What fun!!!! Something to look forward to come the very cold months.

Wish they were a couple years older, I would be taking them to Fowl Fest and having grandson show them.

And helping get a new color of LF Polish to get started... Crele Polish. I couldnt resist either, the one cockrel fell asleep in my arms while we talked for over an hour and he held 2 pollets. A car with a couple young girls stopped and said, "Does that chicken have 2 heads"? as you could only see him holding one body awith 2 heads sticking out. They are Beautiful birds and so much like puppies in temperment.
