Beautiful morning everyone!

Hi Steve and Opa! I see you two are hard at it already. Anyone get any snow last night? We didn't get any here in the thumb. Just a peaceful beautiful morning out there. Getting ready to go wake up the horses to let them out of the barn to play today.

I've got a new black mottled bantam cochin chick this morning....soooo cute...and one more to hatch. Anxiously awaiting more hatching eggs in the mail today and Monday, too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

God bless!

I wanted to share that we have an amazing state park in Bay City - about 3 miles off of I-75. The coolest thing is that the camground is right across the road from the beach & park. They have little cabins that are really inexpensive to rent - like $35 or so - I think

I don't think they would like us to have our chickens running around. However, anyone interested in doing an egg exchange, might be able to combine that with a little camp-out.

Opa - We have seen 2 of those movies, both rented from Movie Gallery or Hollywood Video. I wanted to apologize also for not getting back to you last fall. Our move was more chaotic than expected, and I need to prepare a good spot for chickens once the snow goes away... hoping it will... it just keeps coming now!

Steve - Nice animals! I'm doing my homework now, and hoping to get some piggies of my own in the spring. I also like the sign! Can we come and pet your animals? LOL

Glad to be finally settling in here and thinking spring! I'm already drooling over the gardening catalogs... pretty soon the chicks!

Snow?????

Steve Jr. came over today and says "Dad, can I try out your tractor and snowblower?"

I said sure, have at it.

He was having a ball.

....and it is still coming down, I'll need to get the big Deere out tomorrow and move whatever we get during the night.

Remind me not to complain about next springs mud or summers heat.

I have shoveled our concrete 3 times and daughter once. Shoveled the back deck too, that was deep!!! It is still snowing! I was just about stuck at my SIL farm today. Jon hasn't made it to plow the neighborhood, he waits till its done snowing, but this will be hard to plow by morning!

He did zip up and down our drive and down the road to the main road, picked up a log on the side of the road and came back. So I can get out for church in the morning and we have heat!

I am not looking forward to the really cold temps next week! I hope the chickens can take the cold temps, they have in the past. The girls are talking about heat lamps!

No snow here tonight but that cold is just about doing me in. I pulled my propane bills out for the last 5 years that I have been here and I used way more than I have used in the past almost 2x's the amount. And it is only the 2nd week in Jan. This is when we usally hit our cold spot.

I really love the UP but might need to look into leaving in the winters, like that will really happen LOL. Not going to see this chick to far from the Grandbabies.

But then again they are talking moving south so ya never know.

Coffee's brewing, slowly starting to come awake, almost afraid to look out and see how much more shoveling awaits me. I shoveled 4 times yesterday trying to keep the amount I have to move each time down to old man moveable. The last time I was out was 9PM. Heck, I don't even know if it's quit yet. Just let the dog out, it has quit and I looks like I only have about a 1/2 this time. Piece of cake. Did some more checking on the Tom Selleck/Jesse Stone series "Night Passage" 2006 "Death In Paradise" 2006 "Sea Change" 2007 "No Remorse" 2009 "Thin Ice" 2009
