that is so cool!

i just figure, if we can help each other out, we lose certain risks.
with hatching eggs, no shaking, freezing, cooking etc.
same with chicks and less stress on a live bird.

the odds greatly increase for a positive experience.

i bet the shipping on a lathe would be OUTRAGEOUS.

The really cool thing was the recipient had no idea he was getting one, we all pooled some $$$ together and did the whole thing without them knowing. Each of us autographed the lathe as we gave it to the next "rider.He was so shocked.

The story made it into a magazine a few years back. We even took pictures and made up things , here I am passing it off to the next guy. The shotgun was a prop. No squirrels were hurt in this event.

Hey everyone laying low today as the cold puts my pain in high gear. But thanks for the laugh.

We are in for a few warm days and then another cold cold spell, it was 19 degree's in SC by Ridgeville last night at 5 pm. Not good for us. Also in Florida my daughter and the crew that went to disney with them had to buy winter coats as it dropped that low. Not good. Bundle up and stay warm.

On the other hand I been only getting one egg for 3 days and no egg on the 4th day all winter long. Two weeks ago I started getting egg number 2 every now and then. This week I am getting 3 so spring must be coming in there some where. On a side note the 1st egg was from my BR 2nd from my dorking and the 3 from a BO. Now keep in mind I have 1 BR, 5 Dorkings, 8 Orps, 1 cochin for hens. Darn free loaders in Dec alone I paid $3.68 a egg. People say chickens are stupid but I think they make ya stupid.

Edited to add Miss Prissy has a thread out there where she makes a bator out of a ice chest. I think she called it a chick bator, you might want to check on that thread.
