vicki, I know it is confusing, but it isn't the Shriners who help out with dyslexia, it is the Scottish Rite.....they all belong to the Masonic Lodge, and then have "affilites" from there.

I am not a Shriner although I could be, I am a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. We all work together to help the community....and kids!

We currently are trying to give a scholarship....so far no takers.

On another note....nice day. Got a fair amount of work done on the "henhouse" .....new pics!

Thought I'd drop a line about the rabbit stew last night. It was delish!!! Hubby had thirds!! Kids thought it was good until i told them what it was.

Anywhoo - sounds like all sort of critters are on the dinner list for tonite - everything from possum to a little bit of head cheese. Can't say that I've tried that. I have tried just about everything else. Supper tonight was Chinese buffet. Its DS's 10 birthday so it was his choice. Hubby said the dog wasn't too bad and now he's in bed cuz he's sick to his stomach. Pooor baby.

Kawkawlin is on the east side of the Lower Peninsula, north of Bay City.

(I grew up in the Tri-Cities area -- Bay City, Midland, Saginaw...)

Okay, I am going to ask a very wishful thinking kind of question... I live on a little over 1 acre... I can't find anything in our association or county saying I can't have chickens. Most of my neighbors are nice but there are some in the area who are a little nosey/snooty.... Here is my question.. Has anyone ever had a breed of rooster who they thought was quiet enough to live on 1 acre without attracting a lot of attention (stop laughing!)?

I have them in a small, insulated coop and they have been fine. I haven't let them out unless it is nice out, and they have lots of bedding in there, with a heated water bowl, but no problems so far, all are healthy.
