Oh wow, I hope your ok Opa! I had the same thing happen a couple of weeks ago. My brat of a rooster. I didn't even see him coming, it happened so fast.

Now I have a lovely scar on my right hand! Two little peck holes! The whole back of my hand was covered in blood by the time I got back up to the house!

Hey Michiganders - I'll get the Michigan meet-up for our area posted this week, okay? Sorry it's taken me awhile...I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize it, and I've gotten lots of helpful feedback from folks whove organized this sort of thing before, so I think I'm ready to do the post. I'll add a note here after I get it done.

Yes she did.

I moved the birds out to the red barn.....they don't know what to make of the hogs and dogs. Now all the messes will be outside.....Judy will like that.

Hello everyone-

Im sorry to report that winter will be returning tomorrow- I have the day off, so thats the way it goes.

I missed Spring. Had to work.
I have no idea how to convince my tortoise that it is over, and I need to bring him back indoors. he wouldnt quit pacing the floors, so I put him out there yesterday. He camped out in his heated doghouse- but if it snows, he must come back in.

I havent collected eggs today. I think the girls were holding out on me this morning, there were no eggs before I left- now I get to collect by flashlight.

Tomorrow is a day of Doctor appointments- I get to tell the doctor that I havent had a cigarette for eleven- twelve? days. I lost count. Now, if the doctor tells me I dont have lung cancer, we shall all have one heck of a virtual party. k?

I hope you all have a great night- I would like to turn in early, I am so exhausted, but the girls have church-and its too wet for them to walk. So hi ho hi ho, its back out the door I go.

Miss Jayne- bean soup! I thought of you today, someone brought bean soup in to work for everyone. I had a bowl and it was HOT! (ick? who puts hot peppers in bean soup? not me, but maybe thats just me) Anyhow, I thought of you because I asked what meat was in bean soup (it WASNT ham) and my coworker said, "Possum".

He was kidding, but the moment was priceless. Bunch of green coworkers...poised with their spoons mid-air.

i dont know where everyone is- my whole backyard is flooded- my chickens are going to need a raft tomorrow- my garage is flooded too. How is everyone else doing with this rain and melted snow?

I hope you are all on high ground.

My husband has a 52 B, but he doesnt let it do work...he putts around the neighborhood on it- but no plowing of fields, no hauling brush, no stump-pulling-
he loves that tractor more than me. Im sure of it. it took him seven years to finish rebuilding that darn thing.

Miss Jayne- I am trying to make a new habit of NOT smoking...and I will, but it sure as heck is darn hard...I was so mad at my tortoise earlier- he was under the deck where I couldnt reach him instead of in his warm house- and we had to get him out, and I was DRENCHED- laying down in a puddle and trying to get him with a large fishing net. I gave up, stood up, and went stomping up the stairs of the deck. My feet flew out from under me, and I SPLATTED face down on the deck. My husband yells out:
"Are you okay?" Now, seriously..how does someone even answer that question?
Sure, "Im fine- I always lay down on my face and moan like this, in a downpour."
I had a point. Oh, I wanted a cigarette BADBADBAD...Im waiting on that habit of Not smoking to start. i am. I havent killed anyone yet, either. Im doing good!

Our yard looks like one giant pond!! Our ducks and geese are lovin' life!!

Unfortunately my chickens aren't as impressed! We have so much clay here the mud is BAD!! My chickens walking in mud past their knees! Do chickens have knees? hocks? whatever!

My goats refuse to come out of the barn unless I coax them with grain, they are big wimps when it comes to rain, water, etc. Today, they moved to the back barn/pasture, so they ducks and geese could start nesting and breeding without the goats eating all their food and getting "goosed" for getting near the nests!!

One more reason I can't wait to move!! We need a bigger barn and more property, preferably on higher ground!! A bigger house would be nice too, but it is not as high on the priority list!!

M2A, mine is a 1966 3020, but we do have some old ones too. I have a 44 B. My dad has restored one (antique) tractor every year since he retired 13 years ago, and recently two of our tractors made it into this book available at TSC.
