[/img] Well like many of you I wondering just how much snow we are going to wind up with. I know that any significant amount will alter my chicken coop building plans. I had thought about starting another coop soon, but I may just wait for a little bit warmer weather. I may just work on building a better brooder, one with a removeable tray to make it easier to clean the little buggers. I keep telling myself that I am not going to hatch any chicks, but with 2 incubators sitting empty I think I am lying to myself. I'm almost tempted to raise a few "mutts" just to see what I would wind up with. I know my welsummer rooster has bred the ameraucans. I would if I would wind up with a pullet that lays green and brown speckled eggs?

Good morning everyone!

Boy was everyone chatty yesterday! Took 1/2 hour just to catch up! Nothing much going on here. Yesterday tho I talked with my aunt -- she's the one who had all the crazy animals when I was growing up I love her soo much:love - she's going to give me not 1, but 2 incubators!!! I dreamt that I turned into MJ and had millions of chicks coming out of my bators!! Good dream! Boy I can't wait! Now trying to figure out what I want to hatch. Is this a case of "don't count your chickens before they hatch?"

Also hubby doesn't know yet. He's at camp with the guys.

P.S. Mom2emAll -- Guinea pigs are a delicacy in South Animal. Anyone try yet? Probably taste like squirrel or rabbit.

Just kidding. Enjoy your new baby!!

I always vision it like a coffe shop/restaurant. People come in have a cup of coffee or whatever. sit at a big table and we all talk about what ever. Then when one has to go they leave...a while later someone else comes in, pulls up a chair.....and it is a ongoing cycle

Isn't that the truth. My first hatch is not done yet and I need to find a dozen fertile eggs to hatch for my cousins daughter....just mutts, nothing fancy.

Then it is a good thing my incubator is just a loaner, lol I only have an oversize acre... !

I stand by my previous prediction...by spring you WILL own your very own incubator, as we all sit back and chuckle amongst ourselves as the you slowly mature into a hatchaholic!

If I thought I could hatch and sell... I would! Do you think there is much market around here for Serama chicks, lol? That is the only rooster I will be able to have around, unless someone has one that comes with a muffler....
