Hi All:welcome
The sun is shining and for me it is a great day!!!

The doc said they were just cysts at this time and even did another ultrasound and explained it all out to my hubby! He wants me to come back in 4 months and check it out again to see if there are any changes. He was really a great guy and very informative:thumbsup Made us both feel a whole lot better.

Hope you are doing better Derek and sorry about the loss of the little chickie.
Another good story. We still have our dog, this time I totally left it up to the hubby . We asked a whole lot of questions , and he told us what we needed to do to help her. So, the dog came back home!

Of course the story he is telling is that it was all because of me. Thats ok.
So far, we have two wet little silkies under Momma. They just hatched out a little while ago.

Vicki, hope you are doing a lot better!

I loved the opossum story. We just shot ours . My youngest son had one come up in a hole in his house and shot it right in the house! Floor didn't look too good after that.
Does anyone have any Brahma hens? We would like to get a couple for our big rooster.
Everyone have a wonderful day! Myrna Thanking God for my blessings!!!

I am so glad you had such good new, Myrna!

Opa, you are going to have a wonderful time at MJ's. The only thing she will hit you with will be the wonderful smell of bread cooking, pies baking, etc. I wish I could be there!!!

On another note... I have a 2 year old EE. She stopped laying during that cold snap. Her wattles and comb are red and I knew she was getting ready to start again. She has been acting normally. I noticed her taking a lot of interest in the nest box today. She turned around tonight and her vent is bloody with no egg yet. I called MJ for advice and by the time I hung up, she had taken her normal spot way up in the rafter of the doghouse/converted coop. I could not get her down. She just went higher up.. Tomorrow morning, if she is alive, I will follow MJ's instructions for checking her vent. My question is... Has anyone ever had a hen do this and not die?

i had only one egg bound hen before and she did pass, but the egg bound issue was a result of her having another illness.

just keep checking on her, Cathy.

<----------------------------------look, i'm not scary anymore!

Thanks, Rhandi! I tried to get her down, but she is wiley! I decided I was probably stressing her out too much, so will wait till morning. (It is hard to fit into that little pop door- Ive done it, but it wasn't pretty- glad I have another coop coming, lol!)

Myrna-Glad everything is ok!!

Cute kid story: I took a couple of the little ones out to do "chores" My sweet little 3 yr old looked at his boots before we went out and said, "look at my boots they are covered in goat sh#t!" My jaw dropped and then I giggled inside. His daddy has a big goat farm and his boots were very "dirty" I told him we don't talk like that and he said we do at home!

Yes, but not at Ms. Cindy's house. Hopefully that is the last of that, I don't need potty mouth toddlers!

I hate the dang thing, my wife likes it...but it is time it goes and that should prompt spring to make it's entrance.
