oh man- I have hatchingitis! I just bid on some Isa Brown eggs. I need to stop.

I just found out that my cousin's husband just died of a massive heart attack- age 39. He leaves behind a seven year old and a ten yr old daughter. So sad.

Sorry about your chicks not making it. All you can do is make sure the conditions are right for them.

Mom2-That is very sad. Prayers for that family.

We got our hot tub filled back up and running today! That is a sure sign of spring. We drain and winterize it because it is just to cold and windy to use in the winter. But now it is up and running again! Woo Hoo!

the concert is next Friday and my girls are geeked out of their minds that Lauren is coming! call me if you get a chance so i can explain the details.

and tell Lauren to get her helmet and knee pads! the mosh pit is CRAZY-GO-NUTS!

Steve Jr. invited Judy and I over to their place for dinner. He cooks, his wife cleans. French toast, bacon and hash browns. We get to play with the grandson, eat and leave....how great is that!

Yeah, I think we have had enough rain for a while, someone want to turn off the faucet till we need it?

Grandma used to have barred rocks.....wish she were alive today to see mine. Dad said she'd get some for laying and the males were for meat. Grandma was the fastest at skinning and dressing a rabbit I ever saw.....I'm betting she cleaned lots of them in her day.

I wish every day that i had my grandma's "know how"!

I have her old treadle sewing machine. She traded 3 RIR hens for it during the depression. Some guys had it in the back of their truck. They were taking it somewhere to sell and stopped at her farm and asked for food when she spied it.

Because of the way things were, all her things needed to be auctioned off....of course anything we grandkids wanted we didn't have to really pay for....but I'll be durned if that was getting out of the family.

After I "bought" it a lady came up to me and offered me a thousand dollars, I politely told her no, she wouldn't take no for a answer and persisted.

I looked her straight in the eye and said "Lady, you do not have enough money to buy that cabinet....it was my grandmas and handmade by her father in law!" (My great grandpa) she opened her mouth to start saying something.....and then stopped, turned around got in her car and left.
