I don't think anyone is ignoring your questions, I think that with all the posts here sometimes things get lost. We all feel that way at times!
Keep us posted on your broody, sure does seem alot easier than all the worry I am putting into my incubator!

I think we are just gabby enough that things get overlooked. When that happens to me, I just pm someone and ask louder, lol.

The first one to pip still has not hatched. It has not made much change at all. It did just peep really loud. It is upside down in the egg, pipping at the narrow end. It's beak still looks to be unattached to the membrane, so I hope all is well and it is just resting up for a big job. The little one keeps trying to snuggle up to it, lol.

Good afternoon!

I am the squeeky wheel.....

1. Does anyone want to have a gorgorous Ameracauana Rooster? He is wheaten color.

2. Does anyone have any chicken carriers made out of wood that I could get demenstions of and a pic? I posted elsewhere on here and no one ever replyed. Rachel wants to build some.

3. I think that is it....

have a great afternoon. Off to buy chicken feed.

No more roosters for me thanks! (one is more than enough)

I made my chicken carriers out of cardboard boxes and hardware cloth, they work great.

I get to go buy feed tomorrow, but I am going to the feed mill that doesn't have chicks....smart for me!

Not enough space for all the chickens! The LF roo has to go since we need to put the bantam roo and hens in with the rest of that flock so I have a place for meat birds.

We have 27 pullets in the garage right now...2 weeks old and I cannot stand the smell...no where to put them at the moment either...waiting to sell the oldest flock of hens. The person we had lined up ended up in the hospital, so it is going to be a few weeks. The pullets are getting that coop. So I think I am going to put them in where I store my feed and 3 show bantams live there...hope they don't bother the chicks in the stock tank:)

Rachel wanted to do a woodworking project and I thought we could get a 2 for 1 deal here. She will use the carriers for quite a few years.

Our feed store doesn't get chicks til April.

Question for Miss_Jayne------------do you raise bantams, like kids would show at 4-H? So far you are the closest to my home to ask. My friend knows where to get the turkeys and meat chickens for the fair, but said she would have to look into where to get her own show birds---she usually borrowed a pair for neighbors. Any words of wisdom would be great, and I would love to have an answer for her instead of asking so darn many myself. Thanks!!

Wyliefarms----so your DD wants to make a wooden chicken carrier to use and put in the fair-----did I get that straight? That would be way cool and I would love to see what you come up with if you can get plans!!!

Okay--off to pick up the kids at school and our kitty from the vet. She had her little hysterectomy today.

the turkeys and meat chickens are just ones you would order from any hatchery. unless your child wants to show a heritage turkey. (i have Slates and Bourbon Reds).

i don't "raise bantams", but i have a bunch of mixes. just setting some Mille Fleur D'Uccles tomorrow for hatching though. (pure bred, but i am not sure they are SQ.) if you'd like to try one, i can keep you posted on the hatch.

words of wisdom...do your best and enjoy it. don't get wrapped up in what the judges think, but learn from them.
as long as she is having fun with it, it is worthwhile.

wyliefarms shows birds. she may have some additional hints for you.

It seems a shame when someone asks a question it doesn't get answered.

There has to be a way to remedy this....Perhaps we could use the BOLD option and do something like this:

I have a question ......

Might be one way to draw more attention to it so it doesn't get passed on by.

or if it is a specific topic, post in the main forum under the correct topic.
this thread is for fun, off topic, just chatting back and forth.

i'm with you, Steve. it would be a shame not to get advice a person is searching for.

many of us are posting at the same/about the same time, so it would be easy to overlook some posts.
