Oh Guys I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sad!!!!!!!!!!

My incubator with forty? eggs in it spiked to 110 for unknown hours and unknown reasons.
I just came in from work, flipped the lid off (sent the plastic windows sailing)...and the eggs are hot to the touch, even actually burning against my skin.

I had dark cornish, and a big ole mix of eggs from Carla in Oklahoma- with fayomi, copper marans, turkens, Jersey Giants, etc. I had Isa browns in there, and a whole mess of others.

hard-boiled them all.

I quit. This is the third attempt and I am done.

Sorry to hear about your eggs.

I had borrowed an incubator a couple of times and had this happen, plus read lots of stuff like this on here. I am so glad I spent the extra money to buy the 1588. It has paid for itself many times over in the eggs it has saved!!

I am so bummed. But I candled and I see four that are still dancing..Yay little blobs! I think the rest are toast, however.

On a good note, my furnace was fixed- and it only cost me $150 dollars

Want to know what was wrong? The reset switch that is located behind the blower where you and I and the average Joe would never find it needed to be pushed. When the power went off then came back on, it tripped that switch. Took the man all of two minutes to find it and push it. That will be $150, please. I am in the wrong profession.
However, now maybe I can have consistent temps in my house and my little Little Giant incubators will have a chance. (I have two).

First full day back at my regular job....up and down ladders makes for sore muscles you haven't used in a while.

Wish I had a jucuzzi about now....or a masseusse. Man I am sore.

Time for me to toughen up, or it is gonna be a long building season.

Derek, I am glad you are back safe and sound! Good to not come home to snow, I bet!

M2M--I am so sad about the incubator causing you heartache. I am glad, though, that at least a few of them were still disco dancing around in there.
That must give you at least a bit of hope, and while you have that hope you will at least be warm, though $150 poorer. Dont' you just hate when something so simple causes such a big headache.

MJ---we had so much fun at your house!!! Shannon asked if we could come back on Saturday when she doesn't have school. The other kids really enjoyed it and also hinted that they wanted to come back and play with E and J again. Hopefully, when we come back, Josh won't put a slug on his face

. I downloaded the pics I took and sent them to my friend to check out. I will post the picture of Shannon holding Dolly's chick.

I hope all you folks had something good and positive happen to you today, however small or large and that something put a smile on your face. I am still tired from the horse expo yesterday, so off to bed for me!!

Hi all, What a beautiful day today. I really can't complain this time. We still have 2 ft of snow, but it was so warm I walked around in a t shirt. I am so tired tonight, but we spent the whole day outside. A miracle for us.

It is good to see that those of you who were gone, are back. We missed you, and I also am waiting for pics.
Mom 2em All I am so sorry about your incubator messing up.
I have to tell you that yesterday we went to Cheboygan and did some shopping, I wore my Backyard Chickens t shirt. My DH said he could see me a mile away. No searching for me in the store anymore. I couldn't do any sneaky shopping.

When I wear it I hope someone will come up to me and say I am ____ on Backyard Chickens, who are you? But I see in our list that there aren't many of you close to me, but I will keep trying.
