I'm a little slow today that was a Polish/orpington mix LOL and Cat I can't post pictures I did send them to MJ
Shelley my son fell in love with the little cochin babies then I showed him your silkie babies LOL he said he will give you to Cochin for one LOL little dose he know they are going to your house anyway haha

MJ, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. As someone already said, you may have had a weasel or mink visit - they're definitely moving around now, they are looking for food and mates. Yesterday when I was washing dishes I looked out my kitchen window and saw a mink swimming in the creek behind our house. He climbed up on the bank on our side and I was terrified he was coming over for a chicken dinner. The chickens were in the yard. Luckily my DH ran out and scared the mink away - the chickens were in quite a state, they ran and flew up into their coop. I feel so fortunate that I saw the mink before he got to the chickens! I kept them in their vermin-proof pen today and left the dog out in the yard on patrol.

So happy Crystal got her babies home! My Abbie was so excited to have a little bantam left, she named her frizzy. Thanks for the trade Crystal, you are very sweet too! I can't wait to see what the Polish/Brahma crosses look like when they grow up. I bet they will be super cute!

Good luck, I've been after a mink for half a year and no luck. Everyone around here says they like LIVE bait. I may try that liver thing though, sounds good to me.

Sure is quiet on here. Is everyone planning on sleeping all day? The forcast is calling for another pleasant day and we haved definitely earned nice days after this winter.

Good Morning All-

Just finished my morning 'indoor' chores. Yesterday I moved 20 chicks into a playpen- one week olds and five day olds, or close to those ages. In my kitchen. heh heh- I didnt have anywhere else to set up a playpen. New-found space for all those little ones. Caused them all to pile up on one side in a terrified heap.
However, they are now brave enough to run/hop/fly through three quarters of the whole thing.

I hope you all have a wonderful day- I have to work all day again. Havent heard the weather forecast for Thursday, but I have that day off. Probably rain, huh?
