MJ - How did the Serama hatch go? I'd love to see more pictures of all the fuzzy butts.

M2EA - I never got a chance to say sorry for the misfortune you went through. I'm glad you're back with us and feeding the addiction again. I'd be happy to help with the Seramas. We have some hatching this weekend or early next week. Also might have some spare eggs too.

Cathy - I'd be happy to take that Delaware pullet off your hands.

I had to go to opthamologist this morning to have the whippersnapper tell me my eyes are just getting old!!!! NOthing they can do about my floating spots dang it...Reading glasses and mild prescr lol

Good morning, all you Chatty Kathys!

GRR!! Missed out on the Delaware pullet. I really need one or two of them, OR one of MJ's (I think it's MJ....?) Delahorn pullets. I was hoping someone would have one for sale at the meet/greet/swap in July? Let me know...

And as for that, we didn't make it up to our meeting last night. The annoying thing is that the guy we need to talk with about it is only there Thursday evenings, and DH starts work at 8 p.m. The guy doesn't get there until 6 p.m. I don't think it'll be an issue, we just have to make it up there. It's the American Legion in Swart Creek, SUPER easy to get to, right off I-69. They have a nice (thought not huge) outdoor area with a grill and small pavillion, and we'd have access to the inside, too, which would be air conditioned.

DH is a 'Nam vet, but his membership in the Legion is in his hometown in Indiana. So, we need to transfer it over, and they have to vote him into the Swartz Creek branch. Doesn't sound like a major issue, we just have to get our butts UP there. When that's taken care of, we can have use of the facility for free if it's not spoken for on the particular date, which the guy has on hold for us.

So.....that's probably way more info. than you're wanting now, but I just don't want you all to think I'm not working on it. I have the post all ready to pop into the Chickenstock section as soon as we get the "for sure" go ahead. Then...let the trading/swapping/deal making begin! I can't WAIT to meet you all in person!

Hi All!!!

Finally made it back from Branson. Guess what? It was cold and nasty down there too. The only nice day was Wednesday when we came back.

A lot of places were still closed for the season or else on every other day.
We saw the Titanic, Ripleys and went on a big go cart ride. Rode all over the city, ate some good food. The kids saw a nice Chinese show. And tried a free wine tour. To show you how much of a drinker I am. Just those few little sips had me all warm and toasty.

And Mom2emall sorry about the loss of your chickens. Glad you haven't given up. I don't have a whole lot of chickens, but would be glad to share some with you if you would like?

My hubby, that doesn't like chickens, let ours out today to free range!!!

Boy was I surprised. He said he figured it might be nice for them.
While we were gone our son was caring for the chicks. We lost one little bantum. Not too bad.
Yesterday we let some of our older chicks out with the silkies to see how they did. So far they are doing well.

Most of our kids are coming to our little house and then we invited everyone else we knew that had nowhere to go. Always room for more!!!

THANKS, KrisRose! Hey, by chance did you place an order for egg cartons from eggbox.com? Reason I ask is that I placed an order Wednesday and called this a.m. to see when they would ship; he said "well, we have an order going out to Davison..." That would be funny if it was YOU!

Went to Walmart....it was a ZOO!

Didn't get the kids anything for Easter. They don't need anything and the couple things I thought of, they didn't have enough for everyone. So skipping presents this year. No one needs anything anyways

Making homemade pizza for dinner....got to get the dough going!

Myrna, glad you enjoyed yourself. I have always thought about doing a wine tour. But I would be drunk by the time it was over

heading outside to play with the kids after the dough is rising.
