We went today to my friends house so Kara could care for her chicks. They are getting huge!! They are now mostly feathers, not much fuzz left.
We were trying to sex them by looking at their combs today. It looks like I have 2 cockerels/2 pullets of the sussex and 2 cockerels/2 pullets of the bantam orpingtons

Not quite sure what to do with all the roos, if they end up being roos. We have neighbors right next door on both sides. I knew it was a chance I had to take, so I will have to wait and see what happens. The good thing is that Princess Oscar seems to be staying a princess, which is making Shannon happy.

Hoping to start my tractor this weekend. I was out rounding up scrap wood laying around the barn earlier today, but I think I want to stick to somthing a little lighter.

They seem to love it! I used the plastic poultry netting from Home depot and they seem to love that much more than the stiff wire. This has a little bit of give. I just went out to check on them and they were all sprawled out on their sides. Worried I opened the door and touched one who promptly squawked. Apparently they were DEEPLY asleep

Good evening everyone. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. So far 7 bad checks have passed. As of yesterday morning, everything has been closed. The police are trying their best. I still feel soo frustrated because I can't do anything. My chooks are the stress relievers. I've cleaned out the coop twice and the run once. The babies will be moving out to the coop this weekend. No more in the house!! I would like to get some more chicks but I think my hubby will divorce me

Hey Shelley! Got the broodys sitting on the eggs! The white silkie was out and about today and was worried that she wouldn't set. Waited until roosting time and she went into a nest, so pulled her off and set her up in the garage with the other silkie. Cross your fingers!
And chick-buddy is doing great. They are so cute. The red sex link was so happy to get a buddy.
Had a great time today. It was so much fun with you. It was great meeting other BYCers. Have a great nite... everyone!

ETA: If the Silkie hen comes off the eggs, just shove them under another broody...someone will want them, I'm sure!
