I am beat my best friend is up from Florida been running like mad! So much fun. I have to go get ready for a family party today by her folks house nice to see the family! They are like my own I think we have been friends for over 25 years! Wow I feel old when I say that

um, Crystal, what if a certain miss MJ had these three green ducks and she loved them very much but just decided she felt led to go in another direction and thought that maybe her friend Crystal would really want to put them in her round pen of feathery things? (gosh, that was a long sentence.)

I think crystal would love little green ducks in her little round pen what do 3 little green ducks cost? Are you still planning on the road trip on the 21 with me and Jacki?

Worked for a while today on the new coop for Crystal's MIL. Then I talk to an old friend who probably knows more about chickens than all of us combined. He was telling me about his blue orpingtons and I heard myself saying "do you want to sell any"? What is wrong with me? April of last year I was only going to get 3 or 4 hens. I now have 45 with another 6-8 birds being added later this summer. I'm getting a couple of blue orpingtons from my friend, Michele has a pair of delawares for me, my oldest son is brooding some columbian wyandotte for me until I visit him later this summer.

Opa. I already have a mental list of some of the different breeds of chickens that I like. Like I said mental list because if I wrote it down my husband might flip out. He suggested an incubator this spring, so I thought I would ask for one for Christmas. That way I can slowly add my list of chickens I like so I don't overwhelm myself or my husband. It is easy to see why people get so many.

It was a wonderful day today. Jeans and t-shrit day. Those are my favorite. Got house picked up, mowed the rest of the lawn, my husband rototilled gardens, I replanted the lettuce, broccoli, and cauliflower and hoed. Darn rabbits are eating everything out of the garden this year. There are so many of them. It's like a plague of fuzzy bunnies. And this is what they are saying to me.

Then we made a fire in the fire pit and roasted hot dogs for dinner and smores for dessert. All while we watched the chickens out for the first evening of free rangeing in the yard. The boys loved it. I think they were dust bathing in a sandy spot more than the chickens. Thank goodness for soap and water.

we didn't go to the swap! we went to the flower nursery though! and cleaned out the garage, went to the farmer's mkt etc!

got the Buff Orps! BEAUTIFUL! the Ameraucanas turned out to be Auracaunas so no purchase there. and....wait for it...i was able to purchase two Frizzled Buff Orps! they are adorable!

also, i traded some wellie chicks for a trio of Golden Seabrights! how exciting!

Today is going to be another great day. I am thankful that I was lucky enough to be born in this great country. Today is flag day. Take a few moments to think about those who serve in the military to help protect our way of life.
