Coturnix quail muture in 6 weeks
So from hatch to table it only takes 6 weeks their eggs are wanted for eating also
Buttons are the hovers that clean up Aviaries
And they are darn cute and colorful
Valley's are eye candy bob whites are for meat also they just take longer to grow
I sell the hatching eggs. I eat quail just not my own LOL

Thank you I appreciate that! I think I'll do some research on them first before I decide one way or the other to try my hand at them. But I do have two large wire rabbit cages we purchased from TSC that are just sitting around........

and waiting for new inhabitants. Teeheeee! Won't hubby really love me then.

Man oh man this heat is getting in the way of all the chores I have to do today.

I'm getting ready to jump in the little kiddie pool with the ducks.

Is it just me or are the fish flies EVERYWHERE This year. Gross!

hi everyone... it is so HOT out there, let the girls out to free range today and they are not going much out of the shade of the woods or the coop next to the frozen milk jugs, they seem to be weathering the weather better then I am, I have 5 kids here today and they want to play so bad outside but I told them no way it is just TOO HOT to be outside for much of a play time, been watching cartoons and keeping by the fans and airconditioners to stay cool

all of our ducks, turkeys and chickens are ranging today too. well, most of them. been going out misting everyone down every other hour. they are having a blast. no one stressing too much. even some of the Bourbons were liking the sprinkler.

they have found all the shady, clover filled areas and are just maxin' and relaxin'.

about the meat birds 12 on / 12 off...i feed my meaties once in the morning and once in the afternoon all they can eat in 15 minutes and then let them range the rest of the time with all the water they can drink 24/7. they grow a little slower and they turn out wonderful.

beware any advice to give your birds supplements that are not made specifically for chickens. in fact, they don't need anything but feed and water.

Good morning!! Beautiful day. Hopefully it won't be hotter then heck again. Last 2 days over 90 degrees with almost 90% humidity. And our AC died at work on Tuesday. Talk about hell!!

Our little duckling is doing well. It has charateristics of both parents so it will be interesting what it will look like as an adult. Right now tho its all cute and fuzzy. Why can't they stay like that?

Good Morning!! I was very happy that it was today. Until I relized it is Thursday not Friday. I hate it when you get a day ahead of yourself. It is gonna be another HOT day. Anybody know when this heat wave will be gone?
