Oooooohhhh! I hope you have a successful hatch! I wonder if I'll be too late for the eggs if I can't get to her until tonight to move her? Well if that's the case then it wasn't meant to be huh? I have a rabbit cage open right now that I was going to use as a brooder box in August but maybe if she's still sitting on the eggs I could move her into that? We shall see, we shall seeeeeee

Busy time, we are gearing up for fair here! Kids are busy trimming goats, washing birds, trimming nails, all that good stuff!

Today we are packing the camper, we can pay an early entry fee and bring it in early tomorrow, which is so much easier than trying to fight the crowd on Friday. Non livestock projects come in on Saturday, along with the dog show and livestock comes in on Sunday!!

Also wanted to mention, my kids (I am the small animal leader for our club, so they are ALL my kids) will have some nice birds in the auction on Saturday if anyone is looking!! One girl has a nice pair of Silver Gray Dorkings, we hatched these out from eggs sent all the way from Alaska from a nice breeder. These are young pair, really nice. Oh and a really nice pair of young runner ducks, from holderreads stock, I believe they are blue trouts, very upright! They have extras available too. There will also be a young pair of white bantam cochins, a silver phoniex cockerel, a pair of young africans, I think a pair of snowy call ducks, possible a nice english lop buck from top quality lines.

I know my friends club has several very cute baby goats selling this year!!

I just love the fair, it is stressful, but so rewarding!!

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind me popping in, I'm new to this Michigan thread. I usually poke around in the Chicken Behavior and Raising Chicks sections and thought I'd stop in here and see what it's like. Seems like everyone knows each other and you're all a very friendly group. My name is Lisa and I live in White Lake Township. We have 17 chickens (15 hens and 2 roos) and we started with chickens just a year ago.
I actully came to the site today to look for a young EE. I bought 2 EE's 8 weeks ago and one of them is crowing and the pea comb is already developing...yikes! I can't have another rooster and I really wanted a couple EE's. The 4H fair is this weekend, I'll see if I can find some chicken people there.
Thanks for listening!

Good afternoon Dottie. I hope you can find some turkeys Laura. Maybe see MJ. But I would have your neighbors check over the coop and beef up security on it. We have locks on our doors or the coons will get in around us.

so sorry to hear about the turkey dinners. that is horrible.

Brianna, i appreciate you thinking of my turkeys:hugs thank you, but alas, mine are all breeder stock. i would recommend zephyrcreek's meat turkeys right now myself. she has some nice broad breasteds.

MJ let me know if you have any EE that are not claimed when your others hatch out.

I still can't decide between babies or older pullets, hard life choices.

Does anyone else have any chicks right now? I'd love to have EE's, barred rocks, orpingtons, or wyandots

I'm looking for about 3 all about the same age. (either chicks or older pullets)
