Lol... She's been helping me out these last few days so I'm headed over to get a new baby. I have to put my one down so I'm getting another tomorrow before I do it because the other one that I have right now that is health freaks if he's left alone. She's been really sweet and supportive. I'm really excited to meet her finally and get to see her place.

She lives about 45 minutes from me but it's worth it. I got the babies from a place down the road from her and now I'm wishing I wouldn't have and would have just waited to go to her place.

Yeah, that other place doesn't have a good rep. He doesn't seem to know what's going on. My friend got a bird from him and it turned ok. We took a couple of roosters to him and just felt horrible leaving them behind, but couldn't find anyone to take them. Just not a good feeling over there. You'll love MJ's place, tho. Don't let her sneak too many chicks in your pockets!

Today looks to be another fine day. I needed to put on a long sleeved shirt this morning as it is a little cool for old bones. But I not complaining. I could use a month of days like today and then have it turn nice.

Yesterday I finished the coop that I am building for Crystal's MIL. It's an insulated coop and should work out quite well for her. I still need to build the removeable roost/droppings tray but that won't take to long. If anyone would like one like it or any other style, contact me. I can deliver one to your door.

Hi V, and Sal, and anyone else who is around when I have just flopped down in a chair and joined you. I am having a cooking day, just picked up some bargains, and they have to be cooked right away, so leg of lamb is just going in the oven and bolognese is being prepared now.

Then I can freeze them for another time..... if they make it that far.

See what it does with this gardening, I was looking for something to go with my peas tonight. lol....

ETA: I'm raising my Colored Rangers on this...and they're H-U-G-E! I weighed the biggest yesterday and he's pushing 12 pounds live weight at 10 weeks. His name is Godzilla.

Why thank you Shellyb1969! I figured he probably did but thought I would ask before I go there and look silly. I'm hopefully picking up some meat chicks from MJ in August and want to be ready..... plus whatever I might come home with from Chickenstock

I will have to remember that! Last year I processed our Vantress myself and had waited too long for the type of bird they were. This year I'm not sure if I want to do it all again or send them out for it. Still undecided. I do, however, have a banty rooster that is wayyyy to loud! He needs to go now but he's gorgeous and I hate to do that to him. Maybe I'll bring him to Chickenstock and give him away

Shelly-What feed did you have the turkeys on? i just have them on layer and I was wondering if they still need a higher protein feed.
They are so fun to watch. They are bonding with Hattie and they are all sleeping together in the turkey coop

KrisRose: Since the turkeys were free ranging, they had their choice of both layer and grower. Sometimes during the day, they'd wander out to the Rangers' tractor and sneak their grower...and then sometimes they'd be lazy and just go in the coop and eat the layer feed. They should have the higher protein, though...for best growth and development. When I locked them up at night, they had their own grower feed to eat.
Hmmmm...not sure about that one displaying, too.

Maybe it just figures that since the other 2 do it, it should too!

You wouldn't believe how many calls I've had about those poults since they left! I'm sure glad you got them.
