Thank you, Gayle. I am very happy to note that there will likely be more, soon. My Serama pair should be producing soon judging the bad behavior of my little roo, lol. I think I need to find another hen...

Morning Michigan
What a morning I went out to open the animal house and one of my BEI's was missing along with my little seabright turkey I was in a panic looking everywhere I went outside looking nothing. I went back inside the animal house and was ready to cry when I hear a sound from the trash can. I take the flip lid off and there they are looking it me like get us out the duck even layed her little egg in there lol

Morning all! My nephew is spending the night with us tonight. We paln on hanging out at the Bologna festival most of the weekend, so we should have some fun. We ate our first Colored Range bird last night and he was yummy. There was a difference in texture and flavor the was greatly appreciated by my family (vs the CX). The boys kept asking for more and asked me to make the same again for dinner tonight.

I've only butchered 4 of the CRB so far, but they have been averaging 4-4.5 lbs at 11 weeks, exactly where I wanted them to be.

don't panic. the worst that could happen is you have to chase them out from under there once in a blue moon. whoopdeedoo. you're fine.

as per sexing, give them longer. i think these are a little slower to mature i am noticing. the snood will be redder for the male.
the rest will come, gobbling, chirping, purring etc.

um, not a problem. that's what i'm here for.

(or great minds think alike or something like that!) and no, you shouldn't get pink streaks in your hair. you need blue to go with your blue cochins!
Laurie and Thimble are doing great this morning again! so cute!

RIRJen...way cute duckies!

Broody Hall is much nicer! I've put the hens/chicks in there - and those babes are so SMALL they can get thru the chicken wire! Mom's want to be out and about and babes are following along - I'm going to make the moms go back in their home so the chicks can take a nap!

RIRJen- thanks for the cutie - patootie duckling pictures. The past few days have been very stressful (due to my sick pullet). I need a visual reminder of why I am putting myself through all this trouble.
Thanks.
