I've never hatched chicks before, MJ has been doing that for me. So, I'm not sure. I don't want to give you the wrong advice. Hopefully someone gets online and helps you. Maybe try the hatching forum?

Hey I have a few bantam cochin chicks if that doesn't work out.

Thank you! I love Cochins - I have but one, a white cockerel named Joey who is in charge of a flock of standard-sized hens. I have pipping going on - I can see two beaks and hear some peeping. I'm a bit concerned because one has been pipping since about 9:00 a.m. without much progress. Is this normal?

Did you also post your concern in the incubation/hatching thread?

I did, and a member told me it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours. I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight! How sick is it that I'm almost as excited about this as when my granddaughter was born??

Dark and rainy down here in the S.E. part of the mitt. Hope everyone has a good day today. The furnace man is coming out this morning, getting it ready for winter, then I'm going in to school to get some more bulletin boards up.

I'm not fond of that task - I would rather have windows than bulletin boards and I never post actual bulletins on the boards, so what's the point?

Good morning everyone. A bit cool this morning - 53 degrees right now - but it sure feels good. Been busy lately - school shopping, work, chores, and all the veggies in all the gardens. Wish I was closer to some of you cuz I would share in the bounty. We planted way tooo much this year.

Wow 53 degrees would be nice. I remember those mornings when I lived up in the UP. Heck I remember the one time in June that we had some snow flakes flying.

Well good morning to you all. Will catch up with you all when I get to school learning how to properly do your resumes as an adult.

May actual get to start school in 2 weeks with michigan works....yes!!!!!

Jason, sounds like good news. Good luck with the schooling!
Christy, we planted way too much also and have an abundance of summer squash and pickles.
Today, for a change I don't have anything to can or freeze, or anywhere I have to be so I might actually get some house cleaning done.

I know that feeling well, got in the Jag this morning and ooopsy daisy, I forgot to put the sun roof up yesterday after making a long trip to the V.A in Ann Arbor. LOL Thank gosh it has leather seats or Im sure it would be smelling like dirty dog.

Cold here, been raining since late last night and no let up in sight. Hope the lake/dam does burst again *sigh! People around here cant take much more disaster.

Everyone try to enjoy your day.

I am not liking the rain my lawn mower broke 2 weeks ago and I have no way to mow the yard. RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!!

I am going to see if my friends will bring there horses over this weekend or get the farmer to bale it.
