As I have built my "rainbow flock" I have tried to acquire 2 or each breed/color. The buff orpington pullet I got from Jason has such a richer looking color compared to the one I had I almost wish I had gotten two and culled or give away mine.
The best price I could find on the waterers was from Cutler Supply.

I also got 3 hens from Jason. They are such nice birds. I am really starting to like that cochin. (now that she has decided to come out of the nest box) The buffs are very friendly, took to the rest of the flock nicely and the cochin is a little homebody. I would take more, but I do not have the room myself. Sorry Jason.

Cita, prayers to your family that everything is ok after the mishap.

I love using the flossers, my mouth is too small and hands too big to use regular floss.

Have a safe trip Opa, enjoy your family. My current situation has made me cherish any time with my family even more.

Duckface,

, you are not an intruder, the more the merrier. You won't find a nicer bunch of folks than here. Hope you decide to stay a while.
Good morning all!
Crystal, prayers for your BF's dad.
Jason, how far are you from Newaygo?

So on Saturday we will be having the family over to celebrate. I am also planning on moving the little welsummers out to Elliott's cottage. He is so lonely.I will have a divider up for a little while though, until they get a little bigger.
I hope you enjoy your weekend. Sounds like fun.

Did anyone see or hear about the meteor last night? I actually saw it!
DH and I were on our way back home from Big Rapids and the car in front of us hit a fawn. We stopped to see how badly the fawn was injured and tried to help it. Long story short... while we were out there I looked up and just happened to see the meteor. Shortly after the fawn died.

I going to get the plastic with the heater built in, Like Sam has, theres a feed store by me that sells them, I dont normal go to this one because its a extra 15 mins away, but it will be worth it.

i hate flossing, but i do it about 4 to 5 times a week, i have such bad teeth, it wouldn't matter if i brushed 10 times a day, when i go to the dentist they always find something.

Chuck is a floss addict,

Went to a goat farm on Sunday, theres a Goat Breeder in Bancroft, very nice lady, oh the goats were so cute, their Nigerian dwarfs,
I want goats milk, and I dont want to breed, so she said that i could bring back the does and mate them, and the they will have babys once the babys are weaned, i can milk them up to 5 to 6 months. though it will be hard to give the babys back to her.

Wow the last couple days have be beautiful...

need to finish up school shopping for kids, they all need new shoes, got them some new cloths, and now that my son is 15 and in High school, he wants name brand, oh it kills me to pay 40 to 50 dollars on a pair of shoes. and 30 dollars for pants,
though when i do jobs at JcPenny, Khols, and Macys. I always go the Clarence rack and try to find good deals, i have found a few, I got 2 pair of pants reg price 45.00 and i got them for 7.00

Everyone have a great day.....

I use the galvanized waters for summer and winter.

Just buy the little heaters that you can drop in water. Cut or drill a hole or slit in the top of the lid, mine are just about a inch down from the handle on top of the lid. make the hole just big enough for the cord to fit through, pull it through so the heater is just off the bottom of the waterer. Silicone around the hole. Use the same waterer for summer by just wrapping the cord up and tieing to the handle. works like a heated bucket but no junk can get in. This save money on buying one for summer and winter.
I also like the galvanized ones better seems to last longer around my house.

Opa-- let me know when you get back. Since kids will be back in school
