Sarah, I met you at chickenstock in person and had only a brief time to talk to you and your dear children. My first impression compared to theirs is so far off that I felt compelled to tell you.

You seem like a very warm hearted woman who puts her children and family first. You give more of yourself than you know, and your kindness reverberates throughout the lives you touch. I agree with many of the opinions stated. You are a convenient target, because you won't react in a way that is harmful to them, and in your soul you know this.

There is probably more to this story that we don't know, but if I had to guess....... I'd say she's JEALOUS deep down and wishes she was half the woman you are. Take your lumps, and she'll come crawling back begging for your forgiveness and friendship once again.

hustonn...SWEET!!!!! i cannot wait! you'll be yelling 'girl down, girl down' when i go into seizure mode because i'll be so excited to have some it's been so long!!!!!

Boyd...i've met Sarah in person as well and she is lovely, her children are well spoken, polite and kind. i agree wholeheartedly. she's just wonderful.

edited because i was typing like a ding dong...

14 pints of salsa so far. Rest of tomatoes are cooking and gonna become pizza sauce.

#3, aka Gretchen, is at a pool party. The pool is heated to 85 degrees!

#1 and #2, aka Rachel and Emily, and my cousin's daughter, all went for a bike ride. #1 has piano in a little bit.

#4 and #5, aka Jack and Nathan, are biking on the concrete out front.

I am going to tackle digging out a flower bed while the canner is canning!

Thank you guys for everything!
Sarah

everything else in the bator is doing excellent, so i am not sure what the issue might of been.

duckboatprincess..catch you in about an hour chickah!

hustonn
...yes...they will. i have had them stand three feet away from me and glare until i get just that close and then fly off. although they have not done major damage but only once to some speckled sussex chicks. shiny things that hang help. other than that, it is just part of the territory. colored birds help.

I'm excited too! What would be more fun than a bunch of sushi eating chicken people?

I think I waited longer to get that batch of eggs to you. Maybe they were sitting too long? Oh well the girls are really starting to lay and I have a few other breeds that are laying now too. I don't mean to overload you, but could I bring you a couple of the other eggs to test fertility?

We had a hawk the other day and the guineas screamed so the chickens ran for cover and then they chased it away. I was pretty impressed, I'd never seen them in action before.

The sushi place I mentioned is Fusion 1 Cafe on Saginaw street in Bay City. Chef Craig does a sushi thing on Thursday nights. It is sit down style. Your server brings out miso soup and a cold platter of edamame, sesame salad and chicken on a skewer. THEN, you get to order any and all of the rolls you want. It is really good and less than $14. Mind you, I am a big eater and can rack up a $20 tab at Hello Sushi in Saginaw - no problem. I live in this area and love to support these businesses. They are both family owned.

Hope I'm not being too bold here, but....

Sarah - My wife (of 28 yrs!) has gone through a similar situation with her own sister...and we feel it is because of just what MissJayne and Boyd have eluded to....she sees the way you are/what you do and maybe feels a little convicted...or jealous ..or whateveryou want to call it...but knows she wants to (and should) be more like you...in our case it was the way we were disciplining/raising our daughters. You and I both know what work it can be, making sure your kids know right from wrong and being consistent with them when they are young.....and my wife's sister wasn't willing to put forth the effort....and she resented us for doing what she knew she should do. It was real painful for my wife as she was treated terrible by this sister. But she rode it out . And tried to keep an even keel.....and like Boyd said would happen, she's now on good terms again. Actually, my wife is the one her whole family will turn to when their own word is falling apart, especially this particular sister....My wife is their rock. I know it isn't easy, but take comfort in the fact that your s-i-l most likely wants to be more like you.....and it will be better.

And Miss Jayne - my oldest dd came down with shingles ...went to the doctor today....

:lol:New glasses - how about a new hip - hubby had hip replacement last thursday - doing GREAT! Dr. Mesko is the BOMB! 1.25 hours - 3 inch incision - and just about pain free!
wink.png

oh yeah.... and I took him to Lowes today to get some sand along w/numerous other items! Spread the sand in the enclosed pen area and got us a big ole plastic owl to ward off those nasty hawks!
would everyone that want to do the sushi dance - oh, I mean dinner, please PM me so and I'll catch up w/everyone early next week and we'll plan a date - I think the Bay City sushi joint sounds the most reasonable - The sushi place in East Lansing is very nice and very expensive! I don't think we're into holding back on our intake, right MJ??!
Off to have some oven roasted cherry tomatoes w/fresh basil, feta cheese and a couple of tablespoons of olive tapanede w/italian breadcrumbs on the top...of course hubby won't be satisfied with just this so we're popping a 4 cheese pizza in the oven too! Ciao!
