Waiting for water to boil for dinner. I made homegrown chicken, potatoes just dug out of the garden, and fresh sweetcorn from the garden. Quite excited!

Hillbilly Rooster, good luck to your son and his team. I hope they have fun! Also, I haven't found anyone interested in the hens yet, sorry. Do you have a place near you that does a small animal swap meet? The Family Farm and Home in Newaygo does it once a month.

Hi all! Currently in the planning stage, and hoping to get some eggs or chicks in the next couple months. (Is this ok in fall?)

Just wondering if there is anybody else with chickens in (the city of) Wyoming?

I don't know of anyone in the city of Wyoming that has any, that's about an hour from me, but Hillbilly Rooster [no relation to me

] has some hens that he needs to find homes for. I hear that he has some very nice hens. As far as getting eggs and /or chicks in the fall, I guess it's fine. I am expecting to get more sometime in the fall also.

Sure, you can do chicks just about anytime, they just need a little more care in the fall/winter, might need to be kept indoors or protected outdoors a little longer than if it was summer. I hatched all winter last year!

Probably will slow it down this year but still plan to hatch more out this fall!

Boys lost but still in good spirits that is good for them at least they dont beat themselves up over it to long. Some just say we have next week.

Hillbillyhen- We dont have a swap that I know of around here. I may just try and meet someone if they are interested I have 5 beautiful and friendly roosters that I think I am going to have to eat soon. The hens I will hold out for so that I can hopefully find them a good home with someone starting out.

Good evening. So busy with the kids back to school. Have to get them up and going and on the bus by 8ish. Then I still have my cousins kids I am babysitting and have to get one of them on the bus at noon. It makes for a constant hurry up we have to get ready to go down to the bus. I will keep zyphercreek in my prayers. I really hope they figuar out what is wrong so they can treat it. What was MJ wacking with her hand? A weasel? A opossum? Running a hawk off? I do hope she is ok though.

I have a few leads and my neighbors are interested in some they sent away for a cd to learn about chickens...

Alot of people know me exspecially the kids and there parents keep asking of who I am and what I do. They say he makes boxes for the cheerleaders and talks to the boys if they need to a sit down if they cannot talk to there own parents someone that listens.

Just alot of volunteer work. Well time to go to bed long day I maybe laid off but I am the busiest laid off person.
