Watching the news tonight and got a reminder of just how fast my life is going. Its been 34 years since the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald sank. It certainly doesn't seem possible that it has been that many years since the gales of November came early.

Morning all!!!

I want to say thank you to the Veterans of the past and present. I know what it takes to be in the service and it is not pretty and it is ok to be proud of your service. Alot of men and women did not have a choice in what they did. I did have a choice and everyone's children was the reason to serve with the hopes that they would not have to.

As the day progresses please take 1 minute of silence for those who have fallen and pray for the families in Texas.

I am with Jason, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Past, present and future soldiers and their families!! There have been many in my family and I am so proud of them. We currently have two serving and plus my neices boyfriend and a good friend of my daughter. We pray for their safety!!

My 21 year old step-son just got back from his first TOD. Went to Iraq. Now he's back at Pendleton awaiting his next deployment, which will probably be Afghanistan. Having him in my life has definitely made me appreciate all veterans even more than I already did.

You're such a doll, Opa. I hope one of these days I can say that I've learned a few things. LOL!

Thanks for always being willing to share your ideas.

We also give a great huge heartfelt thank you to all our veterans and all those currently serving. Without you we wouldn't be where we are today. We have loved ones who have served and loved ones who are currently serving. God bless you all and thank you.

Forty years ago I was a drill sergeant at Fort Leonard Wood training young boys to go off to fight for our country and now I'm still watching young men go to war. The quest for freedom never ends. Part of what has made this country great for 200 years has been the willingness of young men and women to serve a greater calling than themselves. I am very thankful for all our veterans and my thoughts and prayers go to them and their families.

I love hunting, fishing, skiing, rock climbing, sailing, etc and never really became a fan of the sweaty armpit sports, but I found this smiley and thought some of you Michigan fans might like it.

I want to thank all the veterans past and present for your service in our land of the free. Without you, no telling what the good ol U.S of A would be like. I am very thankful for your service.

Opa thank you for your duties at Fort Leonard Wood. I am so sure you were one heck of a teacher. As you are such a patient man. About the Edmund Fitzgerald : Husband worked for Oglebay Norton Steamship Company almost 33 yrs when he died. His first year with them at the age of 17, the Fitzgerald sank. Him being an officer and Chief Engineer, the company sent me a couple anniversary hats. I stored them with husbands belongings. If you would like one, Id be proud for you to wear it as I'm sure he would too.

Jason thank you for your way of thinking and then serving us...its very thoughtful. Isnt your son also serving right now too??

And a belaited Happy 234th Birthday to the Marine Corps and all that have served!!! (Nov 9th 2009)

YakLady: No spirits yesterday. Couple times a week does me good. Dont wanna become a drunken chicken farmer. What would the neighbors think? LOL

Daycaremom: OH my, such cute pictures ...I feel the need to smash my face now too. Thanks for much for sharing. I got a good laugh from them. And a wonderful start to a beautiful morning.

Speaking of a beautiful morning, breakfast dont get much better than this. My girls are giving me such nice gifts. Those 2 eggs were so big, I couldnt close the top of the egg carton.
