Hehehe, that's too cute, Sarah. That is so cool that they got to help!

Welcome, KC. You'll love it here.

And A2, I'm right there with you. We picked up one of those organic free-rangers that someone else raised, too. Approx $60.00. Whew! I told hubby that we need to get us some turkey chicks in the Spring.

I almost feel guilty. Almost. I bought a freerange turkey from another 4-H family for $30. They were not out to make a fortune, just wanted to cover their costs. More people should be so nice!

We bought our turkey at the county 4-H auction. I think it was about $60-80.

Done shopping already with the black Friday sales

Went to 3 stores and got everything that I wanted to get and did it all in my budget

Since I was paying with cash, I had to pay attention and think! Hard at 5am!!! The boys love their new coats

Hope everyone has a great day!

Glad to see everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Day! I had a lovely time with the grand babies. CCF had baby chicks hatching and still has some to go.

We had a wonderful supper. CCF did a great job with the bird. And for $5 for a 18 pound bird, one cannot complain in the least.

Boy the wind here today cuts right through ya. My girls are out in the side yard and the wind is pushing their wings backwards. A couple of the young ones are having a hard time walking around. They all look like dessert dust balls blowing around. You'd think they'd get in their nice warm coop?

I think you will find that this is a great thread. Everyone is very helpful and many wonderful friendships have been made. Last summer we got together for a picnic and had such a nice time we are planning for next year. Welcome to the Michigan thread.

Good Afternoon!

I am running the Fantasy of Lights 5K tonight in Howell. I am hoping it doesn't rain! I don't like running in the rain..... I am going to dig out all my winter running clothes... it has been 6 years since I have used them.

Sarah

I made it!!!! 3.1 miles in 30:55...I ran 4 minutes faster per mile than what I run on the treadmill....so I guess Monday I am cranking up the mph on the treadmill!

Good Night everyone! I has been a LONG day since I have been up since 4:30 a.m.

Another party tomorrow, the first Christmas one!

Sarah

Had a great Thanksgiving over in Holland with my brother and his family. On the way back home just south of Flint I noticed the burgandy van in front of me had a "Chillin with my Peeps" bumper sticker! I got alongside and it was a man who got off at Exit 185. Almost felt like we were friends because of that sticker, even though we had never met.

OMG, Sarah, you're a better person than me. I keep looking at my treadmill and telling myself tht tomorrow will be the day.

Oooooooooowwwwwww. I don't know how I ever survived the days of my youth. Hubby and I had a sitter last night, so we went out. We haven't done that in a while. Started out with a movie, then shot some pool at Lucky Strike, then went out to eat at Andiamo (where we killed a bottle of wine), then off to shoot more pool while consuming more libations. How the heck did I ever survive such stupidity on a regular basis?

Now off to clean the coop.

Sarah: Great job. And enjoy your christmas party tonight.

YakLady: If I have any more than 3 cocktails now, I cant hardly stand myself the next day. But going out and shooting pool you've got to have a few toddy's as they go hand and hand. Glad you and husband enjoyed yourself. Was just talking to a friend yesterday that these last 50 yrs have zoomed by me. And that I might have aprox 30 left and its time for "me" to enjoy my life. So I am planning on doing some traveling in 2010. Alaska, Costa Rica, London, Ireland and maybe Germany. Im very lucky to have internet co-workers that are all over the world (computer repair admins) that I have had the pleasure to work with in the last 13 yrs. So i'll be doing some couch surfing soon. But first I have to get Crazy Chicken Fever to build another barn and get one more pasture fencing up so she can babysit my critters. LOL

Kovalciks Chickens: Welcome to the Michigan forum. You'll enjoy it here...lots of friendly, knowledgable people.

Looks like today is going to be one of the last sunny fall days we're gonna have. As tomorrow the high is only 40 and snow! YUCK. You all enjoy this beautiful day.

Edit to say: I donated Zest, the polish arab I offered here...a new home today. First Impressions Farm in Lenox Michigan is going to use him as a school horse for disabled teens. They are a non profit therapeutic riding school for disabled children/adults. I think it will be a great place for him as he will get a lot of attention and maybe put a smile on their faces. Im very excited about it. They'll be picking him up Monday.
