When she would hear our voice she would come a hobbling along to find you. She would actually track us by the noise we made and voices that spoke to her. She hated to be set down - she ALWAYS wanted to be held. Man are we going to miss her

Morning all its been a while since i have been able to sit at the computer, with out having to do work.

hope everyone is doing good, and getting ready for Christmas. i'm almost there, some store have just been crazy,
whats nice is when i'm at a store doing a reset job, i can shop there to, just need to get a couple more gifts.

some of the chickens are still laying and one of my ee's i hatched out, she started to lay yesterday, a little green egg, her mom layed blue, so i was hoping she would to, but nope.
boy it was so cold here yesterday, that the ducks and chickens where in there coops at 5:30

I was coming back from White Lake, to do some jobs, and on M-59 it was snowing so hard that you could see in front of you, then got a couple miles up, and it was clear, got on US-23 and snowing again. and people drive so crazy, since my accident last year, when i was reended, i'm like a grandma on the hwys,

I drive slow also, but in the winter I don't drive at all.
We haven't really done any shopping yet. Just haven't had time. My kids were over this past weekend and i told them if Dad got laid off again that we would not be getting them anything. They understood but then I said that we already got the dogs their gifts. My youngest said "sure you get the important ones first". We just happened to pick them up when we were at Menards a while back. Actually DH is going to take my youngest to get a couple of new tires today. My son thinks that they are just going to look at tires and price them. Boy is he going to be

We just want him to be safe.

Sure is a cold bitter morning yet the sun is shining so life isn't too bad. Sat this morning drinking coffee and watching about 30 wild turkeys in the backyard. Sure were some nice ones. Went out to water the chickens and found the smallest egg ever in the run of my large fowl flock. Of course it was frozen solid. Caught up my welsummer rooster and put him in a cage inside the coop. He was not a happy camper but I don't want him frostbitten as bad as the one from last winter. He already has just the tip of one point on his comb that's turned black. I should have caught him up last week. I supposed I have procrastinated long enough and should get busy. I've two deer that I have to butcher and two hind quarters need to come out of the brine and go in the smoker. Have a great day and stay warm.

I had a one of my bantie girls try to go broody a month ago, but i kept taking the eggs, this little girl tryng to sit on 5 to 8 big girl eggs, poor little girl looked like she was on a egg high rise. lol


Hillbilly hen, i just got new tires at belle, 355.00 dollars later, but i hate the thought of not having good tiers in the winter, i have to drive all around for work,.

when i went there, i had my daughters gift a DSi in the glove box, i ment to take it out and i for got, after words i had to go to target, this was a week ago, well sunday i was going through the car wash, before going to work, and i look in the glove box, No DSi, so i started to freck out

I'm thinking if those guys from Belle tire, took it i will never get back and 180.00 gone, so i go back home, ask the kids did you guys take any thing out of my car, they all so no, and my son

oh no mom, i hope you find it, so i go through all the stuff that i brough in and hid, i found it in a bag of cloths i got the girls, I tell yea, my heart was in my stomach. I dont even remember bring it in or putting in the other bag, oh where is my brian

, i guess thats what happens when you work 50 hours a week for the last 3 weeks.

oh i will be so gald on the 24th, thats when work slows down for the next 2 months then starts back up in march, dont get me wrong, i'm so gald to have work, but I'm just pooped out

Hey Opa, my big roo has a small part of his comb that is turning black-ish. Should I put him in a cage? If so, for how long? Are you going to keep your roo caged all Winter, or just during the colder days? I hadn't thought much about it, because someone told me that frostbite is really no big deal. They said it will heal up on its own. Is there something more I should know about frostbite? Sorry, first country Winter here.

Yaklady Opa will be helpful. I got 2 roos with frostbite now. My big Buff Orp has the biggest comb and wattles and now has frostbite on both and my little Serama roo has it starting on his comb. I am keeping it covered with bag balm during the day and at night I am putting antibotic ointment on them. Good luck with the frostbite. I am only keeping mine in if it is below zero.

Anyone have one of those days? We keep a water tank full of water with a heater in for dipping water out to fill for the animals, then fill it whenever we need. It was super low this morning. I had asked my daughter to fill for two days, but she kept "forgetting" so this morning I had to fill it. Well I go out the hose and hooked it to the house but the faucet was froze, tried to unthaw it but couldn't get it going. So I hauled water out in buckets. Then as I was doing chores, I noticed 3 of the coops had frozen water bowls, these are supposed to be heated dog water bowls. Great! Other stuff plugged into that outlet were working, so not sure what the problem is, but obviously not a breaker. So I had to find them new bowls for the day and give them water. Then I was walking back in and noticed my car had a flat tire!

I think I might go back to bed, this has been how my luck has been running for quite some time, I think Satan is working overtime!!
