I don't know many people in Canton Mi and surrounding areas. All our family lives in Ohio. I am attempting to having an Arbonne Party (All natural skin care) and thought if anyone in the area would like to come and meet new people your more than welcome to join me. I had an enjoyable converstation with Lighthawk tonight and he wanted more venison recipes. Here's a good one that makes a product very similar to corned beef only better.
Brine Solution (for pump and pickle)
5 quarts of ice water (38-40 degrees)
8 ozs salt
3 ozs Prague Powder No 1
3 ozs of powdered dextrose

I take the roasts from the hind quarters and inject the brine into the thicker portions. Place roasts in a food grade plastic bucket and sprinkle with whole pickling spice. Add additonal meat and spices until container is full. Add brine until all meat is covered. Allow to cure for 4 days at 38-40 degrees. Take meat from brine and package.

I like to cook these in a slow cooker with potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Serve with a horseradish sauce.

Happy Holidays to everyone, I finally found another minute to come by for a visit. Hope all are well, and as ready as they can be for the holidays.

We started a tradition many years ago. On Christmas Day, we have a huge Christmas breakfast around 11am. This is going to be the best year ever. As we will have the fresh eggs, and now the fresh bacon and sausage from the pig we grew and butchered. I so love Christmas breakfast.

What are your favorite Christmas traditions?

Oh and congrats on the new grandbaby Hillbilly Rooster!!!

Sweetchicks- Good luck on getting enough people. I have had a couple home parties from various companies and not many ever show up. The worst was the Dove Chocolate party I had. I thought everyone likes chocolate!

Got all of the Christmas cards mailed!

Came down with a head cold yesterday afternoon. Slept 3 hours and the kids made dinner

Skipped on exercising this morning. I hope I feel better real soon!

The kids want to make cookies today. The good recipe that calls for a pound of butter

Hi , I live in Michigan's Upper Penisula. Yooper Land or God's country what ever you prefer ...ehh. First time owner of 11 red rock laying hens , two horses,1 dog. I appericiate (?) all the help BYC has given me. Especially with keeping heat in the coop. Sure enjoy time spent on byc.
