Good morning everyone!!
It is supposed to be warmer today!!

It does seem a bit ridiculous when you get excited over 37 degrees. I can't wait for spring. I have been working on the plans for all my coop renovations. I will end up with 8 breeding pens and at least one new coop to go in my pasture area. I still can't believe how chicken crazy I have gotten. A year ago I had none, now I have over 40. And want more.

BYC has been such a great place for information.
Hope everyone has a great day!!

KKL, you have helped me immensely. I had only wanted a few hens and I now have 38. This spring I will have 4 breeding pens. So it is quite apparent that my chicken fever has gotten as bad as yours. Thanks for making it obvious that I'm not quite as bad as some people think.

I have mixed feelings about the warmer weather because if it gets warmer it makes the snow melt, which makes it damper and in doing so it makes me ache more

Oh well, I am not going to let it stop me from going out and cleaning the coop today! At least my middle son is here to haul the wheelbarrel for me. He has to earn his keep somehow.
MrsChickendad, I hope you heal quickly!

The reason I asked is because we have our little dog trained to get on the chair just inside our front doorway when he comes in so we can wash his feet with baby wipes. He has a tendency to pee on his front feet. Having him get on the cahir keeps me from having to bend over to do the job. Our husky also waits at the door to get cleaned up when he comes in. If it's just muddy feet that are the problem maybe you could get them used to having their feet cleaned when they come in. I have to admit that DH usually has to take care of the husky though. I could not imaging having such big dogs. Kodi, the husky is only 57 lbs and Pippin is 9 lbs. The cats are bigger than Pip.

I think y'all can thank me for the warm weather... I'm supposed to pick up my new portable ice fishing shanty tomorrow morning. Calling for 40* here tomorrow. "sigh"

The one dog brody is actually outside the most. He LOVES being outside no matter what the weather. If I say WIPE! He stops, and stands still while I wipe him down.

he's mainly the worst offender. The other two just get muddy feet, which get wiped off when they come in, but spring it just gets ridiculous.
