Just watched the forecast and Howell was shown as the center of the current snow squall. It seems we are going to luck out again with the next heavy snow storm going south of us once more. I think that is the 6th major storm that avoided us.

ETA: That weather forecasting guy had said a light snow shower was passing through Howell and it wouldn't amount to much. Well he should come and stick his head out my window cuz it still snowing.............hard. Sure didn't think flakes this size would be considered a shower.

Snowing here in Webster Township - nice big flaky snow, the pretty kind.

Gotta get out though and verify water, collect eggs and see if any silly chickens want to try the sledding run. Opa, do you have a picture of chickens on skis?

Good Afternoon!

Rachel is gone for the weekend so I get to do her chicken chores

She has one mean rooster that she bought this fall. I figured he would of mellowed down since Fowl Fest, but nope. Beating him doesn't knock any sense in him either!

Evening Everyone -

The girls enjoyed some sunshine here in Dewitt, but they are really antzie for spring as well us ME! What does everyone do during the winter to supply their girls with dirt baths...I walked into the coop this afternoon and there are a couple of hens in the "deep litter" method trying to give themselves bathes - ugh - thanks and think spring and of course chickenstock!

My birds have managed to keep a dirt bath going all winter. My runs are covered and then in each run there is a covered roost. The dirt under the roosts is worked up and the birds are dusting there almost daily. If you want to provide your birds with a dust bath place a cardboard box about 24x24x8 in your coop. Fill it with play sand about 6" deep and add a little DE on top.

A couple of people know my wifes been sick. She had a heart attack thursday night and was sent to borgess from hillsdale at borgess. A heart cath and 2 stints later she has color and no chest pain.
It will make you appericiate things alot more. also- be aware the symptoms for heart issues are different for women than they are men. Thanks for the prayers
