Good Morning Opa!
NOoooo Fat Tuesday! I am avoiding it. I know someone will bring them in to work though....and I have no will power.. well, rather, I have no WONT power.
I have two silkie eggs supposed to hatch today. I threw out twenty the other day. Either not developing or not fertile. Its a gamble when you are getting the first eggs of the season shipped, I suppose. I also have about eight Jersey Giant eggs in my incubator that I cant see through to candle and twelve Polish that are only a few days old. I just hope either both of these silkie eggs hatch or none of them. I cant handle the peeps of the lonely chick.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. I have to go wake my husband up- he has been hitting the snooze button on the alarm for about an hour now.

Yesterday after reading all the comments about cayenne being used to get chickens to start laying I decided to give it a try and made a patch of "kicked up" cornbread. I mixed a cornbread mix with cottage cheese and 3 tbs of pepper. I tasted it and it definately was warm. The birds gobbled it up in short order. I guess I should go out to the coop to see if it has had any effect or if I have melted my birds from the inside out.

What can be more fun than a roomful of science teachers? I'd rather scrape poop from roosts.

Good morning everyone. No work today for me due to Presidents Day - Wohooo! Just now getting mauled by our big baby Nala - American Bulldog. She insists on being the center of attention when she wakes up and will not let me stay on the computer. Silly girl

I don't need it either Vicki!!! DH bought me a huuuuge box of chocolate for V-Day. I stuck the box right to my thighs and said "Why don't I just glue the box there honey, cause that's where it's going?" But boyyyyy is it good

Good Morning!! Calm day, not much wind! Chickens will enjoy that very much. I think today is a do nothing day for me. Been so busy the last few weeks that I just want to sit down and do nothing.
Still no vanity, so the bathroom is still just sitting there. DH can grout the tiles tomorrow and then it'll just be putting the toilet back and waiting for the vanity and then the counter top. This is not a week end project!
