sitting here drinking coffee thinking that night sure didn't last very long. I'm awake but don't feel rested. Then I looked at the time. It's just a little after 4am. No wonder the night didn't seem long enough.

Opa,
Im awake too. I could have easily slept more but my dogs bladders stop working at 4am and the big ones jump on and paw me until i get up to let them out.

Thank you to everyone for the advice also, the other day, for my dumb wiener dog. I am definitely going to pick her up some pullups- need some preemie sized ones though. And does anyone know where I could order/buy a basket muzzle for a miniature long nose?

Need coffee. Havent made any yet. Hope you all have a great day. I didnt get to enjoy the sun or any of the outside yesterday- I had to work all day. I hope it repeats today. I heard snow predicted, but I am ignoring it.

It's okay, Michigan peeps- I will just keep on talking to myself here//lol

Im about to go box up one of my hens and relocate her to my brother in laws. She thinks she is a rooster. VERY VERY LOUD every single morning before sunrise. I can hear her loud and clear in the house through the closed windows. She has been like this for months. She announces to the world that she is THERE and she is alive and that she may even lay an egg today- and she keeps it up for about fortyfive minutes every single day. Other than that, she is a fantastic hen. But, when chickens are illegal fugitives, we cannot have them announcing their existence so loudly every single morning. Especially once it gets springish here, and windows start being kept open- she is loud enough to wake my sleeping neighbors.
I may be illegal, but I am a respectful illegal.

I feel bad, and I will miss her fluffy barred butt- but I really don't have a choice.

nope- I have given her plenty of time to pipe down...she has to go. She is a cross-gendered hen. She may lay eggs and look like a hen, but she really wants to be a rooster. She will have enough company there and can crow/cackle and fuss to her hearts content..but she will be in loud company.

yes indeed- my neighbors on either side of me and behind me know I have them. But the one neighbor will be the first one on the phone with animal control if I have a loud one who wakes him up...in fact, i didnt even really have roosters- just babies that i could not yet tell who was who, and one had just started learning to crow- I was not yet sure which one it was, and he started giving me, "warnings" over the fence...talking about "I hear you have a rooster now" and "Pretty loud over there now- roosters huh?" *sigh*
Then with the seramas- those roosters were high pitched and determined to wake the dead...ACCKKK! Had to go.
But the male quail I had also were determined to give a large bird a run for their money- crowing goofballs. Something about needing to be quiet here that causes animals AND kids to make more noise. *shrug*

Roosters at my brother in laws will crow enough that she wont have to be the alarm chicken anymore.

Good Morning

Mom 2em All, how sad. You guys aren't going to eat her are you. She really is going to a farm right. Not THE farm

ohmygosh. Good luck. I wish I could take her, I have one crabby neighbor too.

I know there are sound ordinices, but as far as I understand we are not illegal because of the federal right to farm act. That trumps all town law. It just states as long as we are selling something that is produced from the animal we can have it.

Maybe you could give her treats or something in the morning. Keep her beak busy with something other than crowing. LOL

OMG we are neighbors.

I live in Bay City. Bangor area. I just found a guy. Eevies House of Treasures. 1-989-697-3077 Garfield Rd in linwood. Hes in the middle of no where. Its about 15 min from my house. These people are really old and really sweet. Its like a hardware/antique/ chick place. Any way I couldnt find any one around here that ordered the babies I wanted. He does. And you don't have to order the quanity or pay the shipping for a hatchery. I ordered 2 SLW, 2 GLW, 2 white Rocks and 3 Black Australorps and it was 14.63. He said I should have them in about 3 weeks. He just has to wait for more orders. And he has lots of cuties there right now too.

Good luck

feel free to PM me
