I have a cochin crowing at 3.5 weeks.

Brianna,
Is that a bantam? As I posted before, my LF cochin was so far behind in the crowing department we thought he was a very weird looking she.

Yes it is a bantam. It is early but with one crowing I have used that one to compare to the others, looks like 2 males and 3 females, unless someone is a late bloomer. This little guy that crows is crazy!! He is always challenging the other chicks.

Hello all,
Boy am I tired,

I stayed up too late last night even though I knew I had to be up early. I spent the day with a very handsome young fellow, my DIL, sister and niece in Grand Rapids. Went to Olive Garden for lunch too. DH was wonderful and took care of the chickens for me too.
Here is my great nephew Joziah

Crazy news. This morning my best friend and neighbor called to tell me there was a meeting last night in Monitor Twp. Someone that she knows wants chickens and thats what the meeting was about. He was told hes only aloud to have 4 hens no roosters. Someone brought me up (I live in the next Twp over) and talked about the many chickens I have. Bangor Twp (thats me) was in attendence too. Apparently they said that its to late. They won't hear any complaints about me and I am fine with having my girls. I am so happy. Now I am legal with the Mi right to farm act but apparently with Bangor too. Everytime a city truck slows down in front of the house I have panicked a little. I can't hide my girls. I live on a corner of one of the buisest roads in Bay City.

I just cleaned up the yard and the chicken yard yesterday because it was starting to look messy with all the straw we put down when everything was sooo muddy a couple weeks ago. Everything is all tidy once again. Chickens are thrilled that I have uncovered more ground for them to dig holes in. When all the girls are tucked in the coop it looks like we probably had a pack of digging puppies in the chicken yard.
