I hope to get about 12 chicks, so if any one wants bantam lavender or black Amarucanas, let me know.

We have our first 2 chick!!! Now I am wondering who's bright idea it was to put the incubator in our bedroom.

(This needs to be smacking self in head.) They keep peeping and it is right next to my side of the bed. What was I thinking!! 13 other eggs are pipped so not much sleep for us tonight.

My Turken has gone broody! She has spent two days on the nest- guarding four eggs. She came out this evening and gobbled food and water then ran back into the coop!
I ordered her six Jersey Giant eggs to sit on. I was going to give her some of my duck eggs but then I was too worried that she would decide to quit before it was over- and the ducks have caused me enough stress without her doing that.
She only went broody because I told her that she was too loud, and I was going to take the lot of them back to my brother in laws. The fear of that made her decide to make herself irresistible to me.
I should have ordered turken eggs for her. The thought of her and little Mini- me's running around out there makes me smile.

Goodnight folks. Long day ahead of me tomorrow, and i am up late, for me.

Anyone know of a breeder named Vickie Pittman near Jackson? I'm supposed to get some cochin chicks from her this Sat. Just curious about her and her birds. She said that her cochin stock comes from a private breeder, not a hatchery.

Thanks

SweeChee, I don't know if I welcomed you to the Michigan thread or not. If I didn't I can only plead that it must have be the result of a senior moment. While the brain cells are functioning I want to be sure that you know about Chickenstock on June 12th. Last year's was a wonderful time and this year should be even better. My signature line will get you the details.

I am back! Survived this weekends crazy schedule and the 30 hour famine that I did with the youth group kids. Amazing how much sooner I was ready for bed with no food! Have an appreciation for what we have and what with no enough food feel like.

Rachel and I just dewormed/debugged all of the poultry tonight. Beautiful moon and I saw a shooting star too

Finished archery this afternoon and the summer session starts up again in May til end of July. The girls really like it so we will continue to perfect the archery skills

Off to bed, another busy day tomorrow, with going to the theatre and working on the set.
